So much has been said about the abducted girls with a good many people refusing to believe it actually happened out of a sense of misplaced partisan politics over the lives of over 200 hundred missing  school girls believed to have been abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram sect. As you read this, the over 200 female students abducted on April 14 from Government Girls School,Chibok, in Borno State are passing through hard times, with some of them being rapéd for as much as 15 times a day.

One of the abducted girls who managed to escape made this shocking revelations.

 THE police in Rivers State has arrested a 29-year-old man, Kingsley Ekerete, for  killing his seven-year-old daughter over a plate of boiled rice

Nigerian Tribune reports that Kingsley Ekerete, 29, a commercial driver who hails from Akwa Ibom State, holds just a First Leaving Certificate and has to drive his bus daily through the bustling traffic of Port Harcourt to make ends meet and put food on the table for his young family.

On this fateful day of April 12, 2014, Kingsley returned home like every other day at 1900hrs, already famished. He hurried down to the pot of rice he had prepared before leaving for work only to find that his also hungry daughter, Favour, had helped herself to the meal he had reserved for himself. Kingsley’s animal instincts became awakened and what followed were fits of mad rage as the red-eyed father unleashed his beastly tendencies on his seven-year-old daughter.

ABDUCTED SCHOOL GIRLS WILL END BOKO HARAM ACTIVITIES--SHEIKH AHMED GUMI

 A renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi has said that the abduction of school girls from Chibok, Borno will bring an end to the dreaded Boko Haram activities.

In a statement in Kaduna, Gumi said the abductors are for the first time confined in a space, the Sambisa forest, therefore security agents should grab this opportunity, encircle the all outlets from the forest and use aerial surveillance that would lead to the capture of the insurgents.

"This abduction is an end game for whoever is responsible for the killings, bombings and terror all over in general. The abductors whoever they may be are confined in space and time for the first time. The abducted girls are known, therefore, lies will have to end. The abductors must be identified. These girls hold the answers to all the melodrama that is called war against Boko Haram.

PRESIDENT JONATHAN SETS UP 17 MEMBER COMMITTEE TO HELP FIND MISSING GIRLS

President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a Presidential Committee to help in the rescue of over 200 female students in the custody of the Boko Haram terrorist group. This was disclosed in a  statement  released by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim.

Mr. Anyim said the committee has 17 members, is headed by Ibrahim Sabo, a retired brigadier general and will be inaugurated on May 6th. Read Mr. Anyim’s full statement below.

Meanwhile, World Economic Forum opens in Abuja on 7th May, 2014. And there are reports that all government business, schools in the nation's capital will be shut down for 3 days.

NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT ORDERS CLOSURE OF ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND OFFICES FOR WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

 A statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim, stated that the directive is to ensure free flow of traffic in the city centre.
The Federal Government has ordered the closure of all government offices and schools in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, during the period of the World Economic Forum, WEF.
The WEF on Africa is scheduled to hold from May 7 to 9.

Late Amaka Igwe's Husband Blames Her Death On Doctor Strike

Late Amaka Igwe's husband has blamed the death of his wife on doctor's strike the husband of the Veteran filmmaker, Mr Charles Igwe said this while receiving delegates from the National Executive of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) who paid him a condolence visit days ago, says the ongoing Doctors' strike led to his wife's untimely death.

 A Nigerian woman aboard a British Airways Flight went into labour forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing on a spanish Island.

Ujunwa Eneh Ozeh, who turned 31 yesterday, who was in the business class, went into labour at 36,000 feet while flying from her home town of Abuja, Nigeria's capital, to London Heathrow, despite only being 26 weeks pregnant.


The pilot of the British Airways flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Palme de Mallorce, in the Balearic Islands, where the mother and baby, who has been called Michael, were rushed to the island's Son Espases hospital.

US AGREES TO HELP NIGERIA SEARCH FOR THE ABDUCTED GIRLS

The United States Government on Thursday agreed to help Nigeria in search of the 276 abducted students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.
This was made known on Thursday by the spokeswoman for State Department, Marie Harf.

"We have been engaged with the Nigerian government in discussions on what we might do to help support their efforts to find and free these young women" she said. "We will continue to have those discussions and help in any way we can".

Harf, who declined to expatiate on the kind of assistance Washington is offering, said:

The parents of the abducted girls have vowed to go Sambisa forest in search oh their daughters, they say they are ready to go any length.
The distraught mother of one of the girls kidnapped in Borno has told the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that she and some other parents were willing to go to any length to save their children.
The woman, identified simply as Ajoke, told the BBC that the parents would soon march naked to the Sambisa forest stronghold of the Boko Haram terrorists to secure the release of their children.
She said that the parents were not impressed with the government and the fact that it had done next to nothing to bring back their children

Chibok Abductions - Nigerian Army Mobilises For Sambisa Forest

SEVENTEEN days after 234 students of the Government Girls Secondary School Chibok, Borno State, were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists and the public outcry that have continued to greet the alleged uncoordinated approach of the security agents to rescue them, a major military operation is set to commence as four different battalions, a little more than a Brigade of the Nigerian Army, have been mobilised. - 

It was gathered that the battalions that will storm Sambisa forest are taking positions around all the access routes into the notorious forest.

''My attention has been drawn to reports in some section of the media regarding my speech at the occasion of PDP Women’s Prayer Session organised on Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 to among others things, seek divine intervention for the release of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls. As a mother, I have remained heartbroken and deeply pained by the unfortunate incident. My heart and thoughts have continued to go out to these girls and their families, hence my decision to mobilise other women to pray for them. 

Our prayer points included prayers for security in Nigeria, prayers for the quick recovery of the victims of the Nyanya bomb blast and consolation prayers for families of the dead, prayers for the release of the abducted Chibok school girls in Borno State, prayers for all terrorist victims in Nigeria, and prayers for Nigerian Women and Children amongst other prayer points. Christian and Muslim religious leaders led these prayers.

14-Year-Old Girl Kills Another 14 Year-Old Girl Over Facebook Fight For A boy (PICTURED)

 Endia Martin, a 14-year old girl  was killed on Monday April 28th by another 14 year old girl after they argued on Facebook about a boy. Is this what 14 year olds should be doing? Fighting over boys and killing each other? 

According to Chicago Times, the handgun used to kill Endia Martin had been brought to the scene by someone who knew the suspect and knew 'there was going to be a fight' Chicago police said

    "What would have been, under any other circumstance, probably a fistfight between 14-year-old girls, because they were fighting over a boy, turned into a murder. You introduce a firearm and you have a murder." The police said

NEW BORN BABY FOUND DEAD IN A GUTTER IN LAGOS (PHOTO)

This incident was witnessed by Journalist, Jennifer Ehidiamen  this morning in Lagos. According to her:

    “I saw a crowd gathering around a heap by the gutter in Fadeyi area of Lagos.My curious self crossed to the other side and was about to ask, “wetin dey happen” when I saw it. A lifeless newborn (baby) wrapped in a blanket. One of the cleaners found the baby in the gutter. Lagos lookers were cursing the person responsible for dumping the baby. Some said they suspect the person lives around the corner. So they raved and cursed."

NATIONAL CONFERENCE EXTENDED BY 6 WEEKS EACH MEMBER TO GET N4.5M MORE!!

The ongoing National Conference has been extended by six weeks. This extension will add about N4.5 million to the more than N9 million they are presently earning.
The conference, which commenced on March 17, was to last for three months till June 19.
The conference will now end on July 31.
The extension is contained in the work plan released to delegates on Wednesday.
However, a spokesperson for the conference, James Akpandem, said he is not aware of the extension.
“What I know is that the period for the committees to complete their work has been extended to May 15,” he said.

Premiumtimes reports that the Police Special Fraud Unit, SFU, has arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly operating an internet fraud syndicate that specializes in defrauding unsuspecting wealthy foreign women who are in dire need of husbands.

Henry Ogu, and his accomplice, Yunusa Okonkwo, 42, were arrested after defrauding a New Jersey lady of US$350,000 (about N56 million) via an internet dating site.

In a statement on Wednesday, the SFU said that it received an e-mailed petition from a U.S. citizen, whom it did not name, sometime in April 2013. The petitioner alleged that she met Mr. Ogu on a dating site.
