A 10-year-old boy has become the youngest child in the U.S. in an adult prison facility, after he was arrested on charges of murder for allegedly killing an elderly woman because she yelled at him.
Wayne County Police, Pennsylvania, said that the 10-year-old boy was charged as an adult, and has been locked up in an adult prison.
According to the police investigation, The boy’s grandfather had been caring for 90-year-old Helen Novak, in his home when Tristen Kurilla fatally beat her.
The boy became furious when he went into the house to ask Novak a question and she yelled at him. The child told investigators that he became angry, grabbed a stick and put it around the neck of Novak.
He hit the woman several times in the throat and stomach while holding her down on a bed.
Prison officials said that the boy is supplied with books and movies, and a certified teacher helps him keep up with his studies.
