Nitabai, aged 70, was abducted last Sunday by ten armed men at his Otuoke residence in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State and taken away in his private Sports Utitlity Vehicle after collecting N400,000 from his wife.

The vehicle was later recovered at Unuegbum waterfront where it was abandoned, an indication that the gunmen escaped through the creek.

The victim, his wife, his wife’s sister and three of his children were in the house when the gunmen struck.

The war against extremist group Boko Haram is still raging in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria as can be seen from the recent massacre of 59 students in Yobe.
The Federal Government declared emergency rule on Adamawa, Borno and Yobe on May 14 2013 in a bid to curb the mayhem unleashed by the group but still the killing and the chaos continues.

Family Of Late MKO Abiola Rejects Nigeria's Centenery Awards

The family of the late M.K.O Abiola has rejected the posthumous Centenary award to the winner of the 1993 Nigeria’s presidential election.
Kola Abiola, the eldest son of the late politician and businessman, told PREMIUM TIMES on Friday that the award was “not appropriate.”
“For us, what the government is doing is laudable. But our family will only accept what is appropriate. If what they are trying to give him is a gold award for the centenary, we don’t consider that to be appropriate,” Mr. Abiola said.

The statement made by the Governor of Borno, Kashim Shettima seems to have been proven true after soldiers in Adamawa reportedly took to their heels on sighting a convoy of Boko Haram insurgents.
Governor Shettima said earlier in the week that the members of the militant group were better armed and better motivated than officers of the Nigerian army.
The attack on Adamawa, which came closely behind the Yobe college massacre, resulted in massive loss of life and property as people were killed and maimed and buildings were burnt.

The Nigerian Football Federation today February 27th unveiled a brand new jersey our national team would use during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The jersey, which is lemon green, will be officially launched on March 5th when the Super Eagles meet Mexico in a pre-world cup friendly which will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Governor Amaechi-led government has been given 72 hours by the Rivers State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure that three members of the party who were kidnapped yesterday are released unhurt.
The abducted men include the Port Harcourt Local Government PDP Chairman, Ikechi Chinda; a former member of the House of Representatives representing Port Harcourt Federal Constituency I, Hon Chinyere Igwe; and Alwell Ihunda.
The Rivers State PDP Chairman, Felix Obuah gave the ultimatum to the government during a news briefing today in Port Harcourt.

40 year old autistic man Andrew Young (pictured below) died from a single blow to the head by Lewis Gill, 20, (pictured above) in November 2013. Lewis killed Young with a single punch in an unprovoked attack captured on CCTV after Young challenged Lewis' friend for riding a bike on the pavement in the Charminster area of Bournemouth. Lewis pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to only four years for the crime last Friday. Groom Abandons Wife At RCCG Church On Weeding Day, You Won't Believe Why

A groom on Saturday. 22nd February, called off his wedding after the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG that was supposed to wed them conducted a pregnancy test and it came out positive.
After keeping guests waiting for about two hours the groom came out and announced to the astonished guests that he was no longer interested in the marriage.

A popular Ghanaian comedian, Musah Iddrisu, and a Congolese, Inana Cedrick, have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for ingesting drug.
Iddrisu and Cedrick were arrested during the inward and outward screening of Ethiopian airline passengers respectively at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
NDLEA Commander at the airport, Mr. Udoh Nsikak-Abasi, said, “Iddrisu was found to have ingested 450 grammes of cocaine. He was on his way to Thailand. Cedrick was caught with 1.500 kilogrammes of heroin which he tried importing into the country.

A High Court in Abuja on Wednesday rejected an ex-parte motion brought by the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Lamido Sanusi. Mr. Sanusi had asked the court to set aside his suspension from office.
Mr. Sanusi was suspended by President Goodluck Jonathan last Thursday over alleged financial recklessness and official misconduct.
He filed the suit on Monday to challenge his suspension. He had not only asked for reinstatement, but also an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the president, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police from stopping him from performing his duties as CBN Governor.

A 28 year old Nigerian student, Prince Bartholowmew Obitube, has been sentenced to death by a high court in Malaysia for trafficking drugs. The Shah Alam High Court yesterday Feb 26th gave the death penalty to Obitube after he was found guilty of trafficking cannabis, also known as marijuana.

The accused, a student with a private college in Kuala Lumpur, was arrested with 9,189kg of cannabis at Desa Satu Apartment, Gombak on Aug 20, 2011. According to the facts of the case, Obitube was caught by police from the Gombak Narcotic Crime Investigation Department, following a tip off, within the apartment area after he tried to run away with a backpack containing the drugs.

The offense, under the Dangerous Drugs Act in the country, provides a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Stepbrother Of 15-Year-Old Girl Who Weighs 68lbs And Was Locked Up In The Basement Gets 5 Years For Sexually Assualting Her

A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison for sexually assaulting his younger stepsister while she spent years locked in the family's Madison, Wisconsin, basement being abused and starved.
Dane County Circuit Judge Julie Genovese also gave the man an additional two years for sexually assaulting his then-15-year-old girlfriend in 2011. The sentences will run consecutively.
The sentences come about eight months after Genovese sentenced him to 15 months in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girlfriend in 2011. He got credit for time served in jail in his stepsister's case and didn't have to spend any time in prison, though.

Some Survivors of the attack by Boko Haram at Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe State, have spoken about their ordeal during the attack.

The United Nations on Wednesday joined prominent Nigerians and groups in condemning the gruesome killing of schoolchildren in the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe State by Boko Haram insurgents.

Aliyu Ayuba, a JSS 3 student, fled the scene with a bullet in his back. He said the assailants; young men and boys in military uniforms and plain clothes, ordered the students to gather in one place and started shooting sporadically. Aliyu added that all his roommates were killed and burnt inside the hostel.

More than 12 heads of State have arrived Abuja ahead of the centenary celebration, arriving at the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on wednesday for the ceremony billed for Thursday, the News Agency of Nigeria reports

The visiting Heads of State were received at the airport by some members of the Federal Executive Council.

Those that were received at the airport include Presidents Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibi; Paul Kagame of Rwanda; Yahya Jammeh of Gambia and Prosper Bazombaza of Burundi.

According to a report by PREMIUM TIMES the chairman of Madagali Local Government, Maina Ularamu, who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES over the telephone, said attackers, suspected to be members of the extremist Boko Haram sect, first attacked Kirchiga Village before proceeding to Shuwa town both in Madagali Local Government Area.

“They came to Kirchiga at a little after 8p.m and opened fire sporadically at the people,” he said.

He however could not confirm any casualty‎ figure as at midnight on Thursday.

The 3-year-old boy put his mother, Becky Gumm, 32, through hell after he hid himself in the cupboard after watching his favourite programme, Fireman Sam.
His mother made a distress call to the police which sparked a huge search, including neighbours and total strangers who turned out in large numbers to look for the little boy.

The Special Assistant on Social Media to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, was today unmasked as the brain behind a fraudulent attempt to link Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to the recent spike in Boko Haram violence in Borno and Yobe States. In one of the recent attacks, Boko Haram terrorists slaughtered some 60 secondary school students at their boarding house.

Posing as “Wendell Simlin,” Mr. Omokri circulated a Word document linking the former CBN Governor to the recent attacks. The ruse was however uncovered when some Internet-savvy Nigerians traced the IP address of the source document and it turned out that it had been authored and circulated by Mr. Omokri.

A Canadian anaesthesiologist,George Doodnaught, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for sexually assaulting 21 women while they were sedated, but still aware of their surroundings.

Doodnaught was convicted in November of kissing, fondling and forcing oral sex on the patients at North York General Hospital in Toronto during a four-year period that ended in 2010.
The victims were aware of what was happening but could not move, the court heard.
In delivering the sentence, Ontario Superior Court Judge David McCombs called the crimes “shocking and abhorrent”, according to public broadcaster CBC.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, has demanded to know the whole truth about the alleged missing $20b which the suspended Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said is missing from the federation account.

A statement Wednesday from the finance ministry to the BBC, said the minister, “ asked for urgent action with regard to an independent forensic audit of conflicting claims of unaccounted funds made by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamdio Sanusi.”

About 43 innocent children of Federal Government College Buni Yadi, Yobe State, lost their lives when Boko Haram insurgents attacked their school in the early hours of Tuesday, at a time the children were supposed to sleeping.

The school was attacked by Boko Haram members in the early hours of Tuesday, they set ablaze many structures in the school and slaughtered many innocent children.

Boko Haram attacks on their villages in the North-East has forced thousands of people, especially women and children, to flee the villages for neibghouring Niger republic where they are not finding any comfort.

Although the Nigerien government has granted them refugee status, they live rough under trees and shelter in cardboard boxes, lined up along dusty roads.

Some United Nations workers said on Tuesday that the construction of formal camps for them had been banned by the Nigerien authorities in order to curtail further the influx of “refugees” or even bring fighters over their border communities with Nigeria.

The Nigeria Police Force yesterday paraded ten suspects arrested in connection with the torture, murder and sodomy of three females accused of stealing pepper in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State, an event that occured in February 2013.
The police held a conference at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit in Lagos, parading the suspects.

4-Month-Old Baby Dies After Sexual Assault

An infant girl died in Albuquerque after suffering sexual and physical abuse at the hands of her mother's boyfriend, New Mexico cops said.
Angelique Montano's 4-month-old baby, Izabellah, died Sunday, after two weeks on life support, according to KOB-TV.
Montano's boyfriend, Elijah Fernandez, 19, is accused of causing serious brain and sexual trauma to the child while high on synthetic marijuana, commonly referred to as spice.
Doctors had allegedly referred the child to the state's Children Youth and Families Department three times before the deadly incident because of past injuries, according to KOB-TV.

Michael Jones and Reid Fontaine are accused of sexually abusing cows.

A farmer in Herkimer County, N.Y. couldn't figure out why his cows seemed more anxious than usual. When they weren't producing as much milk as usual, he set up a surveillance camera.
What he saw shocked him: two men were rolling in the hay with his livestock, CNYCentral.com reported.
The farmer, whose name has not been identified, contacted authorities who conducted their own investigation.
As a result, Michael Jones, 35, and Reid Fontaine, 31, were arrested for misdemeanor sexual misconduct, UticaOD.com reported.

Recently naked photos of the 80year old Head Prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim, Idimu District in Alimosho Lagos State, Prophet Timothy Adewoye, went viral alleging that he had sex with a married woman who worshiped in his church.

A Ugandan newspaper has published a list of the country's 'top 200' homosexuals, a day after their president signed their anti gay bill into law which punishes 'aggravated homosexuality' with life in prison.

The Red Pepper, a Ugandan tabloid, ran the names of 200 people it claims are homosexuals, and the list includes prominent Ugandan gay activists such as Pepe Julian Onziema, as well as a popular Ugandan hip-hop star and a Catholic priest.

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members has in early hour of today attacked and killed dozens students of Federal Government College Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. Yobe state Police Commissioner, Sanusi A Rufai confirmed that twenty nine male students were killed and twenty four structures that include the Administration block, students hostel and staff quarters were burnt down.
A resident in the area said he has counted 39 lifeless bodies within the premises. "The attackers started the operation around 12:15 unpertubed until after 4 am, the students were slaughtered and fired with guns.

Following President Jonathan‘s signing of the same sex bill, Uganda has followed suit.
On Monday 24th February 2014, President Yoweri Museveni signed the Anti-gay bill into law. The law is aimed at criminalizing all homosexual relations; offenders face a 14-year jail term while more convictions may lead to life sentences.
CNN’s Christiane Amanpour spoke to one of Uganda’s gay rights activists Pepe Julian via a telephone conversation from the nation’s capital city Kampala.
She revealed that members of the gay community are afraid of losing their lives and would rather take their lives than live under the law.
