Emir Sanusi Replies Boko Haram: Nothing Will Happen To Me





In what appears a direct reply to the Boko Haram leader, Shekau, the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II, has declared that he remained protected against any evil attack and nothing is going to happen to him except it is the will of Allah, the creator.

He said this during a Friday special prayer session held at the Kano City Central Mosque on Fruday. The Emir, Sanusi II, who presided over the special prayer, reiterated his earlier call on the general public to protect themselves against the attacks of the wicked Boko Haram sect.

Emir Of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Cancels Eid Festivities After Bomb Attacks




Emir of Kano State, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has cancelled Eid festivities marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan next week after a deadly church bombing and a female suicide bomber’s attempt to attack a university, an official said Sunday.

Finally President Jonathan And Emir Sanusi Meet In Abuja (PHOTOS)




Who would have thought? That these two men will meet and heartily greet each other? President Jonathan and former CBN Governor and newly installed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi met today July 23rd for the first time since Sanusi's installation as Emir.

They met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja where Sanusi had gone to break the Ramadan fast with the President. The reconciliation meeting was brokered by the Sultan of Sokoto, Saa’ad Abubakar.

Sanusi Lamido Drops Suit Against The Federal Government





Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has reportedly dropped the suit filed against President Goodluck Jonathan, the Inspector General of Police and all the defendants which challenged his suspension from office as CBN Governor on February 20, 2014.
Sanusi, who is presently the Emir of Kano, issued the Notice of Discontinuance today, July 1, 2014.

Guess what? Sanusi’s Turbaning Took Place Right Before Pres. Jonathan (PHOTO)








I am sure you rushed down here  ready to call me names, but photo dont lie right? So take a close look at the picture above....
Well, the President was not actually present, not that we know of.
With the photo above as evidence, President Goodluck Jonathan who has been reluctant to congratulate the new Kano Emir, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, may actually claim to been present at the turbaning –
in spirit.
It’s eerily ironic that the actual turbaning took place right under the President’s nose – literally – while Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s photo stayed watchful.

As emir of the northern city of Kano, Sanusi becomes the second-highest Islamic figure after the Sultan of Sokoto in Nigeria. He replaces Ado Bayero, who died on June 6 at the age of 83 after reigning more than half a century. Gov Kwankwaso, while speaking as the turbaning process said:

    The appointment of an emir is not a political issue. It is unfortunate that some enemies of
    Kano State attempted to politicise this process."

Kano Protests Announcement of Sanusi as new Emir, Kano Residents Riot (PHOTOS)




According by the tweets of Jamil Abubakar, Son of Inspector General of Police, riot has broken out in Kano state following the announcement of former CBN governor Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano. According to his tweets, Jamil says the people of Kano are not happy with the announcement and are causing trouble in the town. He however says the situation has been brought under control and no life was lost.

Some residents of Kano State on Sunday took to the street following the announcement of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as the Emir of Kano State.

BREAKING NEWS: SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI IS NEW EMIR OF KANO




Contrary to earlier media reports that Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Ado Bayero had been announced as the new Emir
A new Emir has just been announced for Kano and it is none other than the former governor of CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
The annucement was made  by the secretary to the Kano State Government, Engr. Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi.

Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who made the announcement this afternoon, said the former Central Bank Governor was edged by four kingmakers from the Kano Emirate.
The recently ousted Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was turbaned as the Dan Majen Kano last two years by the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.

It will be very interesting indeed to see who emerges emir, View Point wonders what would happen if Sanusi Lamido becomes the next emir of Kano.
 Contenders for the respected throne have begun to emerge. They include Mallam Sanusi Lamido, who holds the traditional title of Dan-majen Kano; his uncle, Sanusi Abbas, who holds the title of Wamban Kano and Sanusi Ado Bayero, the late emir’s first son, who is the District Head of Gwale.
    Kingmakers have begun a closed door meeting to pick three names out of the eligible contenders for Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to pick Bayero’s successor.
Others are the Galadiman Kano, Tijjani Hashim and two other princes, Aminu Bayero and Nasiru Bayero.

Sanusi Lamido Under Probe For Allegedly Financing Terrorism




The Federal Government, yesterday, said it was investigating suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on suspicions of being a major financier of terrorism in the country.

This was revealed by the Department of State Services, DSS, in a counter-affidavit to the suit filed by Sanusi before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, in which he is seeking to restrain the Police and operatives of DSS from arresting, detaining or otherwise harassing him.

The DSS told the court that it impounded Sanusi’s international passport because of on-going investigations over alleged terrorism financing.

Sanusi can’t escape arrest – FG tells Court




The case between the Federal Government and the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido, is heating up as the former has refused to shift its stance.
The F.G, in response to a suit filed by Sanusi, has said that the CBN governor can not succeed in his attempt to restrain the police and  the Department of State Security Service from arresting him.
The government, which is involved in the suit alongside the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Security, also added that the reliefs Sanusi sought were constitutionally impossible to grant.
The Daily Independent reports:

Sanusi had filed the suit seeking an order restraining the police and officers of the Department of State Security (DSS) from arresting, detaining or otherwise harassing him.

Missing $20bn Story Takes New Turn As Jonathan Orders Audit Of NNPC

President Goodluck Jonathan has authorized a forensic audit of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The Presidency said on Wednesday that "reputable international firms" would carry out the audit, but the companies' names were not disclosed.
The decision has followed the calls by the Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and a Senate committee investigating the graft allegations to conduct a forensic audit of NNPC after the Central Bank ex-governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi presented evidence that he said showed the company failed to remit $20bn of oil revenue to federal government coffers.

APC Calls For The Arrest Of Reno Omokri Over False Security Report




The All Progressive Congress (APC) is calling for the immediate arrest of Mr. Reno Omokri, who is the special adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, for  allegedly trying to link the suspended Governor of thr CBN, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to the increased tempo of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents.

CBN Governor, Sanusi, Replies Jonathan's Query, Defends Bank's Multibillion Naira Spending



The suspended Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido, has defended his bank against allegations of spending billions on extensive loans, staff emoluments, and maintenance of devices.
In suspending Mr. Sanusi last week, President Jonathan accused the CBN governor of “financial recklessness”.
PREMIUM TIMES had reported exclusive details of the president’s second query to Mr. Sanusi early 2013, in which Mr. Jonathan demanded prompt clarification on key spending in excess of a trillion naira. The president’s query followed the submission of the CBN’s audit report by Mr. Sanusi to the president on February 26, 2013.

Court Rejects Exparte Motion To Reinstate Suspended CBN Governor, Sanusi




A  High Court in Abuja on Wednesday rejected an ex-parte motion brought by the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Lamido Sanusi. Mr. Sanusi had asked the court to set aside his suspension from office.
Mr. Sanusi was suspended by President Goodluck Jonathan last Thursday over alleged financial recklessness and official misconduct.
He filed the suit on Monday to challenge his suspension. He had not only asked for reinstatement, but also an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the president, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police from stopping him from performing his duties as CBN Governor.

Busted: Reno Omokri Exposed As Author Of Fake Document Linking Ousted CBN Governor To Boko Haram



The Special Assistant on Social Media to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, was today unmasked as the brain behind a fraudulent attempt to link Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to the recent spike in Boko Haram violence in Borno and Yobe States. In one of the recent attacks, Boko Haram terrorists slaughtered some 60 secondary school students at their boarding house.
Posing as “Wendell Simlin,” Mr. Omokri circulated a Word document linking the former CBN Governor to the recent attacks. The ruse was however uncovered when some Internet-savvy Nigerians traced the IP address of the source document and it turned out that it had been authored and circulated by Mr. Omokri.

MISSING $20BN : I WANT TO KNOW THE WHOLE TRUTH-- OKONJO -IWEALA




Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, has demanded to know the whole truth about the alleged missing $20b which the suspended Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi said is missing from the federation account.

A statement Wednesday from the finance ministry to the BBC, said the minister, “ asked for urgent action with regard to an independent forensic audit of conflicting claims of unaccounted funds made by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamdio Sanusi.”
