French First Lady In Hospital After Alleged Holland Affair

Trierweiler's spokesman said she went to a Paris hospital to "rest", after sensational images - claiming to show Mr Hollande sneaking from liaisons with Julie Gayet - surfaced in a French magazine.
When quizzed about Ms Trierweiler's future with the socialist politician, her spokesman Patrice Biancone said: "She needs rest. Then she will decide what to do."
The 48-year-old political talk show host, who began her relationship with Hollande in 2007, will leave the hospital tomorrow, Mr Biancone added.

The news comes as political commentators question whether the beleaguered leader can pick up the pieces of his so-far gaffe-prone presidency.

The new year could hardly have started worse for the French leader, who also failed to keep a promise to the electorate to halt the rise in unemployment in France by the end of 2013.
Bruno Cavalier, a Paris-based Oddo Securities analyst, said: "As is often the case, there are good intentions. But we will judge the deeds."
Mr Hollande, 59, is alleged to have spent regular nights with 41-year-old blonde, Ms Gayet.
He is yet to deny the affair, but has said he is "profoundly deplored" the "damage" done by the publicity.

He insists the images, which show a man of Mr Hollande's build creeping from a Paris doorway in a crash helmet, breach the "respect for private life which I am entitled to as a citizen".
In a statement released privately - not as President of France - Mr Hollande said he was considering legal options against the magazine which published the snaps.
It was claimed Mr Hollande travelled to and from Ms Gayet's upmarket pied-a-terre on a scooter from the nearby Elysee Palace, accompanied by a trusted bodyguard called Michel.
Michel brought the couple fresh croissants after they enjoyed several nights of passion, before Mr Hollande emerged dishevelled in a crash helmet from the love nest, according to the magazine's coverage.
It was alleged that Ms Gayet, a mother of two who is married to Argentinian film director, Santiago Amigorena, 51, was then seen heading off a few minutes later.
Ms Trierweiler, Mr Hollande's official girlfriend and the first lady of France, was said to be "incensed and humiliated" as her eleventh-hour bid to have the images banned fell flat.

They were splashed across seven pages of the latest edition of French Closer magazine on Friday under the headline: "The Secret Love of the President".

Accompanying text in Closer read: "Around the first day of this year, the head of state, crash helmet on head, used his scooter to join up with the actress in her pied-a-terre, where the president has a habit of spending the night."
It continued: "The astonishing pictures also raise the question of the security of the President. The head of state is accompanied by a single bodyguard who protects the secret of these encounters with the actress and even brings them croissants!"
French Closer drew widespread criticism in 2012, when it ran embarrassing topless snaps of the Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing by a Provence pool.
The images prompted Prince William and his wife to take action for an invasion of privacy through the French courts.
A number of defendants, including the publisher and editor of Closer, have since been charged and face fines.
The photographs relating to Mr Hollande were all taken over the Christmas and New Year period, with some snapped as recently as this week.
Ms Trierweiler and Mr Hollande became an item in 2007 after he separated from his wife Ségolène Royal, the mother of his four children, amid unconfirmed reports of an affair with Ms Trierweiler.
