Four-Month-Old Baby Crushed By Truck After Falling Off Mother's Back On Okada
A four-month-old baby girl was, yesterday, crushed to death by heavy duty truck, conveying crates of soft drinks at the Okorodafe Roundabout in Ughelli, Delta State, the had fallen off the back of her mother travelling on a commercial motorcycle, popularly known as Okada.

MIRACLE!! Trailer Crushes Honda Accord In Lagos, No Lives Lost (PHOTOS)

Fuel Tanker Falls In Ibadan, Kills Mother & Children, Many Others
Ibadan, wzas thown into mourning yesterday evening when a petrol tanker fell at Molete under bridge, spilling its contents which instantly caught fire.
In the resulting inferno, many people, including a mother and two of her children, were said to have lost their lives, according to a report by Tribune. Many others, who ran for cover inside their shops were also said to have been consumed by the fire, while many vehicles, motor bikes and some buildings in the area were destroyed.'

Two Die , 14 Rescued In Lagos Boat Mishap
Two persons, a man identified as Mr Idowu Lawal and a female identified as Fatima have been confirmed dead while 14 others were rescued after a boat capsized in the Igando area of Lagos state around 8pm on Wednesday October 1st.
According to Vanguard, the boat took off from Akesan and was heading to Imoshe in Ogun state, when it capsized almost immediately. Witnesses said the boat couldn't withstand the tides of the river.
Unfortunately none of passengers wore a life jacket. After the boat capsized, some passengers who could swim swam to the shore of the river while local fishermen present at the time of the incident were able to rescue some others. Unfortunately two people were unable to survive it.

Another Church Building Collapses Killing 3
A one-storey building belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God, Uzama Street, Uzebu in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, collapsed, killing three persons.
This came exactly a week after a six-storey building of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Ikotun, Lagos gave way.
The death toll in the SCOAN tragedy rose to 86 yesterday, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The collapse of the Uzebu church provoked anger across the neighbourhood with youths attacking the property of the church.
One of its buses was set ablaze.
Their grouse was that the church authorities refused to call for assistance to rescue trapped workers hours after the building came down.
Leaders and officials of the church took to their heels on sighting the rampaging youth.

TRAGIC: 6 Year Old Nigerian Girl Accidentally Killed By Mum In Car Park(PICTURED)

On Wednesday morning, a Nigerian mother accidentally knocked down and killed her daughter, Bolutito Shodipe, while trying to park her car.
The 6-year-old girl was run over outside the Hounslow West Tube station in South-West London, UK.
According to Daily Mail, the family is devastated and are “coming to terms with this terrible accident, “
The British Transport Police is currently investigating the incident.
Reports state that Bolutito’s mum was trying to park her car outside the station at around 9:40am when she hit her child.

Flyover Collapses In Brazil World Cup Host City, Killing 2 (PHOTO)
According to a report by BBC
A flyover has collapsed onto vehicles in the Brazilian World Cup host city of Belo Horizonte, killing two people.
The concrete and steel bridge, which was under construction, fell onto traffic on a busy highway.
The front of a commuter bus was crushed along with two apparently unoccupied construction lorries. A car was also reported crushed.

DRUNK DRIVER LANDS CAR ON ROOFTOP IN LAGOS (PHOTO)
Wow I find this absolutely unbelievable!! They pictures din't lie, but we know they do these days with photoshop. Anyway here is the story;
A dead drunk driver lost control of the vehicle and fell on the roof of two buildings in Oworonshoki area of Lagos, western Nigeria on Sunday.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened around 8.30pm when a yet to be identified driver crashed at full speed on the roof of the buildings.

15-MONTH-OLD BABY SURVIVES FALL FROM 11TH FLOOR APARTMENT (PHOTOS)

A 15-month-old baby miraculously survived after falling from the 11th floor of an apartment house in the city of Minneapolis in the United States.
Presumably, Musa Dayib, slipped into the hole between the balcony railing in the apartment where his family lives.
A baby got injuries and multiple fractures, as well as breach of the lung.
However, a small child survived to its flexible backbone and the fact that it fell on a relatively soft surface.

Tragic: Candle fire burns 2 children to death in Lagos
wo siblings died in a fire during the weekend in Ejigbo, Lagos.
According to reports, the children 5-year-old Abiba and 3-year-old Lukeman,were burnt to death after the whole room caught fire as a result of a burning candle which ignited the mattress they were sleeping on.
The incident was said to happened on Saturday at about 9 p.m at 1, Anulowapo Street, Orilowo Bus Stop, Ejigbo while the mother of the victims who lit the candle was outside the room following a power outage in the area.

Valuable items in the room were also burnt before the fire was prevented from spreading to other rooms.

TRAGIC: Ten secondary school students die in autocrash in Katsina

Ten students of Government Day Secondary School in Kankara town in Katsina state yesterday lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident when a truck loaded with timber which they boarded to help get them to school had a head on collision with another truck which was coming from the opposite director.
10 of the students died on the spot while four were critically injured. Their corpses were taken to the Kankara General Hospital. Activities at their school was suspended to mourn the dead students. May their souls rest in peace..Amen.

10 People Injured As Homes Explode
Ten people have been injured, at least two seriously, after an explosion “flattened” two houses and badly damaged a third, emergency services said.
One man, believed to be in his 70s, is in a life-threatening condition after the blast in Clacton, Essex, at around 8.30am.
Neighbours could be seen clambering over the rubble to help immediately after the explosion as the remains of the roof dangled precariously overhead.
Some 19 properties have been evacuated and the walking wounded include one young teenager, Essex Police said.

Fuel Tanker Explosion Kills 15, Razes 50 Shops
Barely a day after a fire outbreak razed a sawmill market at Ipaja Road in Lagos, another fire disaster at the Cement Bus-stop along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway involving a tanker laden with 33,000 litres of petrol, has left 15 persons death and several others with varying degrees of injuries.
The inferno, which started at about 11p.m on Tuesday, was finally put off at about 1a.m. by a deluge of fire servicemen and rescue operators who thronged the scene of the accident minutes after it happened.
According to an eyewitness report, the tanker had somersaulted while trying to avoid the huge craters on the road and then exploded from the impact of the crash.
All attempts by the combined team of fire fighters from the Federal and State Fire Service, Capital Oil, Julius Berger and Swift Oil, to limit the effect of the inferno proved abortive as it spread rapidly, engulfing over 50 shops including banks, shops and residential buildings.
Asides the buildings that were razed, the fire also burnt over 20 cars as well as goods and properties running into millions of naira.

While attempts were on to put off out the fire, THISDAY gathered that emergency rescue operators also put up a valiant effort to rescue persons who were trapped in the buildings in the path of the fire.
Although they successfully rescued about six persons from the flames, however, no fewer than 15 persons were brought out dead and had since been deposited at the Yaba General Hospital by the police.

Governor Oshiomhole is Healthy, Hale and Hearty
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Louis Odion was yesterday reacting to the rumour about the Governor’s treatment abroad after an accident involving his convoy occurred late last year.
He stated the Governor is not receiving any treatment abroad, saying he was healthy, hale and hearty and would be on ground during the weekly state cabinet meeting scheduled to hold at the Government House on Monday.
He confirmed that he was with the Governor abroad, shortly before he returned to the country during the week, assuring that Governor Oshiomhole will be back this weekend.

Mob In Ondo State Sets Driver, Vehicle Ablaze After Fatal Collision With Motorbike
An angry mob in Omi town, Ondo State set a driver and his bus
ablaze on New Year’s Eve after a fatal accident involving the bus and a
motorbike along the Irele-Omi Road.
The motorbike rider and two of his passengers died in the accident which also injured several other passengers.
Some eyewitnesses and survivors said the motorbike rider attempted to pass a vehicle, but found the passageway too narrow, leading to a crash that killed him and two others on the spot. One witness said the rider was pinned to the spot while his two passengers were thrown into a nearby bush.
Angered by the accident, a mob of irate residents of Omi town, home of the victims, set upon the bus driver and beat him to death before setting him ablaze inside his bus.
