Rev. Fr. Ejike Mba­ka, Enugu Catholic priest and founder of the Adoration Ministry, yesterday raised the alarm that he has been receiving threat messages following his New Year eve message where he said that Nigeria would be doomed if President Goodluck Jonathan is re-elected.

In a sermon at the Christ the King Catholic Parish GRA, Enugu, yester­day, Rev. Mbaka said if such threats could move him, he would not even be standing before the congregation that morning.

Pastor On The Run Over Death Of Two Brothers During Spiritual Bath

Two brothers of same parents, Abiodun and Ayinde Oniru, have reported died during a spiritual bathing by the pastor of  New Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ajah area of Lagos state.

The pastor identified as  Pastor Samuel Olusoji had in company of the mother of the men and their step-brother gone to the stream for the spiritual cleansing over the weekend when  tragedy struck.

Hoodlums Attack Church Flog Pastor And Memebers

 CAC, Pillar of Fire located around LA Primary School, Akure, Ondo State was the scene of what can best be described as a scene out of one of Nollywood comedies.

Hoodlums suspected to have been sponsored by a rival pastor attacked and dealt with members of the church and their Pastor known as Pastor Arije over the weekend during during service and reportedly flogged the presiding Pastor and members of the church.

Meanwhile, the police in the state have arrested some of the hoodlums but they were later rescued by a mob, during which a policeman was stabbed with broken bottle on the neck.

    You were in Deeper Life and The Redeemed churches. At what point did you decide to open your own and why?

    That’s what you call memory lane. I was in Deeper Life for five years, between 1978 and December 1983. Brother Kumuyi was and is still a great teacher of the Word. The person that put the fear of God in me was Brother Kumuyi. He laid the foundation for systematic teaching that many people see me do today.

Female Members Sent From Church For Indecent Dressing

 Recently, worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church in Kenya, got the shock of their lives when some of them were turned away at the gate for indecent dressing.

One of them, dressed in a black sleeveless dress, a tiny yellow belt and heels, Julia, a regular worshipper, in her mid-20s was surprised by the new rule in church that saw her miss the 8.30 mass.

    Complaining bitterly about the new rules in her church, Julia said, “Two people, a woman and a man told me that my type of clothes were banned from church and I should change into a proper attire.”

Catholic Priests Fight Over Parish Posting In Mbaise

OWERRI—The schism, which has been trailing the appointment and consecration of the new Bishop of Ahiara Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Peter Okpalaeke, by the Papacy, took a more dangerous dimension weekend, as priests allegedly got entangled in what people described as a dirty battle.

Vanguard investigations revealed that Rev. Fr. Januarius Chima Ahaneku went to St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Nnarambia, at about 7.15p.m., following his posting to the parish by the Vicar General of the embattled Diocese, Rev. Fr. Clement Ebii.

While Fr. Ahaneku was accused of storming the parish with thugs and assaulting the resident priest, Rev. Fr. Marcellinus Nweke, Ahaneku, however, said he was there on legitimate posting.

Nweke confirmed that he had to alert the police and the people when his brother priest allegedly exhibited an act unbecoming of an ordained Catholic priest.

Another Church Building Collapses Killing 3

A one-storey  building  belonging  to  Christ Chosen Church of God, Uzama Street, Uzebu in   Egor Local Government Area of Edo State,  collapsed, killing three persons.

This came exactly a week after a six-storey building of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Ikotun, Lagos gave way.
The death toll in the SCOAN tragedy rose to 86 yesterday, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The collapse of the Uzebu church  provoked anger across the  neighbourhood  with youths attacking the property of the church.
One of its buses was set ablaze.

Their grouse was that  the church authorities refused to call for assistance to rescue trapped  workers hours after the building came down.
Leaders and officials of the church took to their heels on sighting the rampaging  youth.

NONE Dead At Synagogue Church Building Collapse- Church

There had been wide reports that over 15 persons met their untimely death as a building in the (SCOAN) collapsed yesterday, the report also said that scores were injured and had been taken to hospitals for treatment.

Well according to an official Statement by the Church's media team no one died. Report by PmNews


The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), said on Friday that no one has been confirmed dead following the building collapse that occurred near the main church auditorium in Lagos.

‎The media department of the church explained that contrary to media reports, no one is trapped in the rubbles.

TheNation reports that Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, Friday Adeboayo confirmed the recovery of the dead bodies adding that rescue operations are on to evacuate injured persons. The building, said to be a guest house for foreign visitors, collapsed today.

Breaking his silence on the allegations of adultery reportedly levelled against him by her, he described them as “frivolous charges.”

Oyakhilome also lamented that the media had been writing all sorts of “stupid things” about him and his marriage.

Noting that Jesus Christ was also accused of different allegations during his lifetime, Oyakhilome asked Nigerians to refrain from unfairly criticising him.

He was quoted by an online news portal, TheCable, as saying this while giving a sermon in his church on Sunday.

Another issue connected to the divorce, which has also been generating tension in the church, is the cry of female ministers who are accusing Pastor Chris of introducing “controversial rules that are now threatening the foundation of many marriages in the church”.

A female church member of one of the Christ Embassy branches in Abuja told the newspaper that “the revolt of Rev Anita will be a child’s play to the one that people will soon see when we open up on how a secret policy introduced sometime early this year has been tearing many families and homes apart in our parishes across the country.

“This is a strange directive that husbands and their wives must not worship or attend the same parish.

“Now, if a couple is a member of a parish, one of them has to be posted to another parish and this is fueling adultery in the church in no small measure. Some of us who are female ministers that have been separated from our husbands, we are already talking. Some have started revolting against the order in their parishes, while some have refused to obey such transfer orders”.

Yesterday 31st of August was Holy Communion Sunday in The Apostolic Church.
For members of The Apostolic Church, at 32 Edgerley Road, Calabar in Cross Rivers State, it also marked the end of a week long youth conference.

According to the members they were asked to buy the youth conference file at cost of N500, this instruction which came from the Pastor of the Church did not go down well with Parishioners.

Church Puts God And Sex Together On Billboard (PHOTO)

(WILKES-BARRE, Pa.) -- A Pennsylvania church is marking its first anniversary with a controversial billboard that proclaims God loves sex.

The billboard was placed along a major highway running through Wilkes-Barre, Pa., by Restored Church, a non-denominational worship center opened in September of last year by two friends who met as college roommates.

The billboard, according to one of the church’s founders, is meant to draw attention to the church’s new sermon series launching next month that will focus on sex and the Song of Solomon from the Bible.

Nigeria's Oldest Pastor Dies At 114

  


Founder and President of the Gospel Apostolic Church, Pa Samuel Sadela, who is described as the oldest pastor in Nigeria, has died at the age of 114.

Pa Sadela died yesterday August 26th at the church premises. The church has already opened a condolence register in front of its premises. Pa Samuel was born in 1900 and started his pastoral journey in 1928.

He made news headlines in 2007 when at the age of 107 years, he took a 30 year old wife, 6 years after his second wife passed away.

Pa Samuel, an indigene of Ondo state, first got married in 1934, with the marriage lasting for 21 years, but none of the couple’s seven children lived beyond their infancy. A second marriage, said to have been consummated in 1965, was blessed with four children, but only two survived. His second wife died in 2001.

While celebrating his 113th birthday last year, Pa Samuel said he wished to live up to 200 years

    “I feel happy to be this old. Actually, I feel like a young man. I still enjoy my meal of Iyan (pounded yam), Eba and bush meat. I sleep whenever I want to and wake up stronger. I want to live longer to prove to all that God remains the same as He was in times past. If Methuselah could live for 969 years, God can make me live well beyond 113. If Noah could be 950, it is not too much for Him to make me live up to 200.” He said
