TRAGEDY: Man Dies After Consuming 8 Cans Of ‘Bullet Drink’ To Win N1,600













A man from Ikwo local Government Area of Ebonyi state, allegedly died after consuming eight cans of Bullet Energy.

The deceased consumed the drinks as a result of a bet.

A source disclosed that the deceased had on Thursday, boasted that he  would drink the din in the cans and smile home with the sum of N1600, which was put up for the bet by one Chikwado Nchionu.

IMSU Graduate Dies Trying To Avoid A Dirty Water Bath (PHOTO)





A student of Imo State University who had just written his final papers, lost his life during the ceremony to celebrate his graduation.

The ceremony which consists of pouring dirty water on the fresh graduate, turned into a tragedy when in trying to avoid the dirty water he ran over a soak-away pit, fell into it and drowned.

What seem to be jubilation turned into a gathering of sorrow when the victim was running away from a number of students who pursued after him to pour dirty water on him. In that quest to dodge the water being poured on him, he fell into a soak-away pit and got drowned.

Footballer Dies Celebrating Goal With A Somersault



























A 23 year old footballer, Peter Biaksangzuala,  died after suffering a serious spinal injury during his somersault goal celebration.

He sustained the fatal injury when he fell awkwardly on his head after scoring the equaliser for Bethlehem Vengthlang FC last week.

The Mizoram Premier League match in Northeast India was  televised and  watched live by thousands of supporters.

Thunder Kills Three Teenagers In Ogun








Three teenagers, Sunday Mulero,13, Dare Olaifa,15 and Sodiq Segun, 15 died yesterday, Sunday when thunder struck as they were playing outside their house, during a heavy down pour.

The incident which happened at Ijale Ijaka Street in Ijoun, Ayetoro area in Yewa South local government area of Ogun state  occurred during a heavy rainfall killed the 3 teenagers instantly.
Vanguard reports that:

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident.

Adejobi in a statement said , the information made available to the Police Public Relations Officer of the command by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ayetoro Division revealed that the young boys were “playing “outside their house when the thunder struck and killed them instantly.

TB Joshua Confirms That Boko Haram Attacked Church Building








The founder and General overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T. B. Joshua has said Boko Haram may be responsible for the collapse of a six-storey building in the church premises.

Joshua, who told members of his church on Sunday not to be afraid, said the attack was targeted at him and not at them.

The prophet made it clear that the collapse of the six-storey building at around 11.45am on Friday which led to the death of no fewer than 16 persons was a Boko Haram attack.

Joshua buttressed his claim by showing to his congregation on the Emmanuel TV the chronology of events shortly before and after the accident as captured by the church’s CCTV.

TRAGIC: 6 Year Old Nigerian Girl Accidentally Killed By Mum In Car Park(PICTURED)

 On Wednesday morning, a Nigerian mother accidentally knocked down and killed her daughter, Bolutito Shodipe, while trying to park her car.

The 6-year-old girl was run over outside the Hounslow West Tube station in South-West London, UK.
According to Daily Mail, the family is devastated and are “coming to terms with this terrible accident, “
The British Transport Police is currently investigating the incident.
Reports state that Bolutito’s mum was trying to park her car outside the station at around 9:40am when she hit her child.

16 Church Members Suffocate, One Dies At Service




A six year old boy has been confirmed dead while 16 others are receiving treatment for suffocation after they inhaled carbon monoxide fumes from a generator they were using during worship at the Young People's Christian Fellowship in Aba, Abia state yesterday Saturday July 26th.

According to eyewitnesses, the worshipers were having their Friday night vigil with a generator close by when they started to collapse one by one. Residents of Eziukwu road where the worship centre is located woke up this morning to find the worshipers unconscious.

TRAGEDY: 9-Year-Old Boy Falls And Dies In Soak-away, Few Hours To Graduation Ceremony In Lagos (PICTURED)

A nine-year-old child, identified simply as Riliwan, fell into a soak-away at Apata Street, Somolu area of Lagos and died on Thursday morning.

Riliwan, a primary six pupil of a primary school in the area, was to attend his graduation ceremony that morning where he was billed to be given prizes for coming first in his class, when tragedy struck.
He fell into the soak-away while trying pour away a bowl of dirty water that his parents had used in rinsing their hands  after eating Sahur (Ramadan pre-dawn meal).

CHIBOK GIRLS: SEVEN PARENTS DIE OF TRAUMA




This is so sad, how many more will have to die before their children are brought back to them.
According to a report by Punch no fewer than 7 of the parents of the abducted Chibok girls have died while waiting for the return of their abducted daughters.
Punch reports:
Eight-one days after the abduction of their children, seven parents of the abducted female pupils of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, have died of trauma.

Man trying to dig skull from grave in Osun gets stuck & dies (GRAPHIC PHOTOS)




An unidentified young man in Ilobu community, in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun State, met his Waterloo in the early hours of Wednesday while attempting to cut off the head of a corpse, buried in Tonto compound in the area.The suspect’s accomplices fled in terror after seeing half his body get stuck mysteriously in the grave. His death has generated concern among the terrified residents of the Ilobu community.

According to  , the victim and Saturday Tribune, his partners in crime allegedly came to Tonto compound in the early hours of Wednesday with a plot to exhume the corpse of an aged woman and sever her decomposed head, allegedly for ritual purposes.

A Nigerian and Two Others Die In Ghana As Helicopter Crashed Into Sea

A helicopter carring eight people crashed off the coast of western Ghana, on Thursday,  killing three people including a Nigerian, while several others sustained injuries.
Confirming the news, Ghana Armed Forces spokesman M’Bawine Atintande told Newsmen that the Ghana-registered chopper, which was conveying eight people, including two crew members and six oil workers, crashed into the sea near one of the oil rigs, 20 nautical miles off Takoradi, Western Region on Thursday evening.
The helicopter took off from the coastal town of Takoradi at 12h50 GMT and had been scheduled to land at a platform offshore at 13h10.

23-Year-old Woman Dies Trying To Rescue Fiance From Burning Flat




Sophie Rosser, a 23-year-old architect, died while trying to rescue her fiance, 28-year-old Oscar Silva, from a burning block of flats in East London where they lived in.
Rosser, who had just returned from a party early one morning, saw the fire, and called Silva on the phone to alert him to evacuate the building, as he was asleep at the time.
He did not respond, and so she dashed into the building to try to save him. But unknown to her, Silva had taken the elevator to another floor in an attempt to escape the fire. They missed each other in the midst of the chaos, but paramedics were able to rescue him.

PREGNANT WOMAN, DAUGHTER AND THREE OTHERS ELECTROCUTED TO DEATH IN LAGOS

Tragedy struck in the early hours of Thursday after a live wire electrocuted a pregnant woman, identified only as Mrs. Ameh, and her three-year-old daughter in front of their home on Onabanjo Street in the Oworonshoki area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that another woman, identified as Iya Fatimah, her daughter and one boy, identified only as Basheet, were also electrocuted, bringing the total mortality figure to five.
Two vehicles were burnt beyond recognition in the incident that claimed the five lives.
Our correspondent, who visited the area, learnt that the incident occurred around 2am when it was raining.

Last week we received a sad news concerning the death of one of our medical students in Okofia ,Nnewi campus, the source said.
Name: Chisom Donny Osigwe
According to the information, she died after observing an all night reading on Thursday 3rd April 2014 to prepare for her quiz the next day but to the surprise of everybody she did not wake up to go for the lecture.
When her friends got tired of waiting for her to wake, they started to bang on her door to know whether she will open but she never did.

TRAGEDY: Generator Fume Wipes Out Family Of Three In Rivers State




It was tragic at the Elekahia community in Port Harcourt City local government area of Rivers State when a man, his pregnant wife and a little boy died after inhaling poisonous generator fume.

An eyewitness told LEADERSHIP Sunday that the man whose name could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, put on a big generator set at the corridor of his apartment before they went to bed.

According to an eyewitness, the fume from the generator suffocated the man, his pregnant wife and their little child.

TRAGIC: Mobile Policeman Kills Himself With A Rifle In Niger

A policeman attached to the Squadron 12 Police Mobile Force PMF Minna, Niger State reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.

Corporal Tanko Usman, 30, was said to have parked his motorcycle by the road, walked into an uncompleted building and went on to shoot himself fatally. The incident happened earlier today after he reportedly left his duty post at one of the city’s new generation banks.

An eyewitness who wished not to be named said no one suspected anything sinister when the policemen made his way onto the uncompleted building until the loud bang of gun shot was heard.

PHOTOS: Lady dies in car accident just a month to her wedding






29 year old Juliet Igbinoba, died in a fatal motor accident on Monday 17th of March along the Lagos-Benin road just a month before her wedding. Juliet was planning to get married on April 19th; invitation have been sent out and preparation was in top gear before she met her untimely death while going home to meet her people over her forthcoming wedding.

Juliet was a staff of Fouani Nig Limited and an Accounting graduate of Auchi Polytechnic Edo State.. Burial arrangements for her would kick off today with service of songs and then interment tomorrow. May her soul rest in peace amen....

TRAGIC: Telecoms mast collapses in Cross River, kills two (PHOTO)




Tragedy struck in Odukpani local government area of Cross River State on Wednesday evening at about 6pm when a telecommunications mast said to belong to Globacom fell and killed two people.

Those killed were an eleven year old girl, Lawrencia John Asuquo and a middle aged man, Adindu Fynecountry.

Lawrencia was on an errand for her father while Adindu was in his drugstore when the unfortunate incident occurred. Two others were fatally injured, several other sustained minor injuries and some houses were destroyed.
Those critically injured were carried to the General Hospital in Calabar. The incident happened following a rainstorm that came with severe winds it was gathered. It happened in Ntoe Edet Oqua Street in Odukpani Qua Town. Father of the deceased girl, Mr. John Asuquo Etok, a staff of Odukpani Local Government Council, was inconsolable yesterday.

TRAGEDY: Woman Slumps And Dies While Giving Testimony In Church On New Year Day


Tragedy struck in Umuogwuta, Ndegwu, Owerri West local council area of Imo State, as a lady who was giving her testimony during the New Year service suddenly collapsed and died.
A villager, who spoke on ground of anonymity, said: “The Lagos-based lady, Ifeoma Anozie, collapsed and died while giving her testimony inside Saint John’s Anglican Church, Ndegwu.”
It was also gathered that Ifeoma returned to her country home not to only give testimony about her achievements in the passing year, but also felicitate with her kith and kin.
