When and how did we get to this state of affairs in Nigeria? Should parents now be afraid of their children?
A 21-year old university undergraduate, Tolani Ajayi, has killed his father, chopped the body to pieces, before dumping the remains in a bush near their home in Ogun State, the police said.

The suspect has since been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.

A witness told PREMIUM TIMES that the attack occurred Tuesday after an argument between Tolani and his father, Charles Ajayi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN. The late lawyer had reportedly questioned his son over his attitude and refusal to follow Biblical teachings.

RMD was a year older yesterday, to celebrate Richard Mofe-Damijo’s birthday yesterday, comedian Bovi took to his Instagram page narrating a hearty and aww-inducing story of  how the Nollywood icon brought him to limelight.

Squatting with my uncle who was a squatter, I dusted my scripts and headed to my appointment with Nollywood icon, RMD.  He leaned back on his swivel chair and crossed his legs on his table. It was the cleanest pair of mokasin shoes I had ever seen.
    In my mind I was before a “god”. Tell me about yourself, he said.  I mumbled my family history unfluently. Any hopes of selling my scripts to him fizzled when he pointed to a corner in his office that had about a hundred scripts.

This so sad. Double misfortune has befallen Okorie Orie, a native of Ibenda Effium in Ohaokwu Local Gov­ernment Area of Ebonyi State, whose son was killed by an unrepentant gang of robbers that had robbed him 10 years earlier.

A decade ago, 37-year-old Uchenna Okereke, led six other robbers to rob Okorie Orie, dispossessing him of millions of naira and successfully escaped.
But the victim was able to recall the face of Okereke and he correctly identified him to the police, who acted on the information and arrested him. During interrogation, he revealed the identity of the other six members of his gang.

A humanist charity organization reveals he has been released.

The International Humanist and Ethical Union (IHEU), says that Mubarak Bala was released because of a doctors’ strike which has seen many patients discharged.
The 29-year-old chemical engineering graduate who goes by the name Ex Muslim, was held against his will for 18 days at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

US SPY CAUGHT IN GERMANY?

BERLIN (AP) — Germany summoned the U.S. ambassador in Berlin on Friday following the arrest of a man reported to have spied for the United States, heightening friction between the two countries over alleged U.S. eavesdropping in Germany.

U.S. Ambassador John B. Emerson was called in "in connection with an investigation by the federal prosecutor," the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The U.S. envoy "was asked to help in the swift clarification" of the case, it added.

Federal prosecutors say a 31-year-old German man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of spying for foreign intelligence services. They did not identify the suspect or the intelligence services.

Festus Kenyamo, a renowned lawyer, has written a petition to the Inspector General of Police following the death of Christopher Onoriode Akpomowei Awin.

The 31-year-old Christopher Onoriode Akpomowei Awin, reportedly drowned  in the swimming pool after returning from a party organised by the Ijaw Students’ Association of the University of Abuja. Representing late Awin’s family, Kenyamo, questioned the circumstances leading to Christopher’s death, making it known that an autopsy, which was carried out on the dead body by a certified consultant pathologist, reveals that the deceased could have survived had help arrived early enough.
