Kwara State Police Command has arrested a man on charges of murder after he allegedly killed his wife for screaming at her daughter for throwing a way a plate of soup.
40-year-old Sanni Abubakar Demo of Fulani, Tabera, was brought before the Ilorin Magistrate’s Court, where he was charged with one count of culpable homicide, for murdering his wife during a dispute.
Police said that they launched their investigation after Kadir Boni of Yakiru, Fulani, told officers that his daughter, Alice Kadir, fell ill and died. Investigation later revealed that his daughter was killed by her husband.
Detectives learned that Demo cruelly and horribly killed his wife because she yelled at their daughter, Bonna, for pouring soup down a drain.
The suspect was remanded into custody after being denied bail.
