Kwara PDP Governorship Primaries: Delegates Exchange Blows, Many Injured (PHOTO)

The primary election for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), governorship ticket in Kwara state ended in a free for all fight amongst delegates on Monday over the presence of fake delegates among them

The free for all fight brought the primary election to an abrupt end at about 9.30pm, without delegates decided who will flag the party’s flag in the 2015 general election.

What started as a mere argument soon degenerated into a rowdy session as they started throwing chairs at each other leading to many of them sustaining injuries.

12 of the 13 aspirants had earlier raised suspicion that leadership of the party was planning to conduct parallel primary election in favour of one of the aspirants.

But as the fight went on, fully armed security officials stationed right inside the expansive event centre along Ajase-Ippo road, Ilorin where the voting was taking place watched the politicians beating themselves to a pulp without interfering.?
