THE MEN AND THE COCK

In June 2012, the Lagos State government through the Attorney general of the State, Ade Ipaye, announced that it was now a criminal offense for a man to abandon a woman he impregnated, there was outrage by men on the internet, the social media was awash with comments from men that 

made me question if all these men were guilty of the crime.

Under section 277 of  the Lagos State criminal law Any person who impregnates a woman  or girl and 

fails, refuses or neglects to contribute to maternity related cost from antenatal or postnatal stages is 

guilty of the offence.

This is the law that rubbed "well meaning" Nigerian men the wrong way and got them on the social 

media passing funny comments like:

" Lagos women should close their pot of soup so that men would not insert their spoon inside" 

Why would men be unhappy with a law that only seeks to make responsible men of them?

This brings me to a recent observation i made. Is there a particular reason why a prominent part of the male anatomy is called a COCK?

Why would such a noble part of the of the male anatomy be likened to a mere chicken of all animals, I 

think I have an answer to that question from watching these noble domestic birds.

I came across a hen a few days ago, it was obviously very angry as it crazily scratched the dirt for food for its chicks. I could hear her complaining as she did her angry search.

"You people will not kill me, am i the only one that gave birth to you eeh, why can't you go to your father for once and allow me have some rest" And the chicks too reply in anger all the while doing their own 

scratching. "Is that our fault? Did you show us our father? Now we have to work before we eat, while 

our mates like the eaglet and co just sit and their parents bring them food"

Do you understand now? Why would a cock partake in making chicks when it does not want to stick 

around to participate in the maintenance of the product of the its action? 

The Lagos State government is trying to do something about these specie of men and some people are 

not happy about it. I guess they are the cock carriers.

This is must be the reason this life giving, noble part of the male anatomy earned the name of an animal as irresponsible as the cock.

ANY MAN THAT REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS IS NOTHING BUT A COCK!!
