Rev Inung is the general overseer of God's Foundation, Spirit and Truth Church located at Olukosi area of Shasha in Lagos,.
He shares an experience which he says has increased his Faith in God and his Dedication to God.
The church had acquired a bus for conveying members form different parts of Lagos, the bus was dedicated on the last Sunday of December 2013.
The bus, he told, Saturday Independence, was a fairly used one in excellent condition and was driven by a member of the church.
The member , complained that the bus had a hard start, so it was decided that they would take it to a carburetor specialist.
On Wednesday January 8 as they were preparing to go to the specialist, the, the brother decided to clean the bis which was parked at the house of another Pastor Samuel Olutoye, general overseer of Word of Eternal Life and Revival Ministries, the brother attempted to start the bus but a spark went off and the vehicle was engulfed in fire.
At this time both pastors were in the apartment when they heard shouts of fire fire by the brother and others who had rushed to the scene, that was when he remembered that he had left his Bible on the front seat of the vehicle and started shouting my Bible, my Bible.
By the time the fire was finally put out with water and detergent the b=us was completely burnt.
Ge said he watched helplessly as the fire raged on saying that his Bible was his main concern, a Bible which he had had for over 5 years and was his main ministerial Bible, for this reason the loss of the Bible in the fire was very painful to him.
About 40 minutes later while he was still lamenting the loss of his Bible he heard some people, who had remain by the burnt vehicle shouting and running towards him with something in their arms, and lo and behold it was his Bible unburnt from the fire except for a tiny part of the back cover.
All along he had been wondering why the church bus which was God's property or the Bible which was God's Word be allowed to burn like that, but here was his Bible intact.
“This shows that God is real and the word of God is God. By this miracle, my faith in God has become stronger than ever despite the destruction and the testimony of the bus that had been dashed. Our members at Orile Iganmu had been so committed, hence I prayed seriously for the bus. They love God without compromise and with their children they leave their homes early on Sundays and get to church even before those in Shasha where the church is located.
People may wonder why this type of thing should happen at the beginning of the year. Our theme for the year is taken from Psalm 102:13: ‘The Lord will arise and have mercy on us for the set time to favour us has come’. Incidentally, this misfortune of losing the only bus we have believed God for years, and the prayer was answered last year.
“It has happened to prove one thing; that the bus burnt completely and the Bible was untouched was enough testimony for me. God has taken my faith to another level. The Lord who gave us that bus will give us another. The incident has proved a tangible miracle. God is real. Jesus is alive. Everything can be destroyed but God’s word cannot be destroyed. I thank God for the lesson of this miracle, which has taken my faith higher.”
