Middle Belt Gives Conditions For Supporting President Jonathan Come 2015

The middle belt has agreed to endorse President Goodluck Jonathan's bid for re-election come 2015, but have tied up this support to many .conditions.
Professor Jerry Gana, former minister of information, hinted at the weekend that the region would support the president in next year's general elections.
However the National secretary of the Middle Belt Forum, Dr. John Dara in an interview with THISDAY in Abuja has said this support  wont come cheaply as it will be conditioned upon the President's willingness to fulfill promises he had made to the region in 2011.

He said the region was not satisfied with the president and that the president still had time to fulfill those promises especially in the areas of infrastructure and political appointments before the 2015 general elections.
He said they felt neglected as a region, that they had a deal with the president and that they had not been treated well as a region' all these, he said, they had laid before the president when they paid him a visit at the villa
According to the Forum the president still had time to meet with their demands and conditions, he further said that the region might withdraw its support for the president and consider fielding its own candidate come 2015 if these conditions were not met.

Adding that the forum was not in support of the call for power shift to the North, they would field their own candidate in 2019 when the power shift  returns to the North.
