Samuel Eto'o Apologises to Liverpool's Jordan Henderson

Eto'o

Samuel Eto'o has apologised to Liverpool's Jordan Henderson for his challenge on the England midfielder during Chelsea's win on Sunday.
The Cameroon superstar bagged the winning goal at Stamford Bridge, but some of his other contributions dominated the headlines post-match.
As well as his clash with Henderson, Eto'o also clashed with Luis Suarez and was seemingly fortunate not to concede a late penalty - whilst he also swapped shirts with Mamadou Sakho at half-time.
Asked about his challenge on Henderson, Eto'o told The Sun: "Maybe I should have been sent off."During the match in the first moments, the game was passionate on both sides, but people know I'm not violent. I was really sad to see Jordan on the floor - I want to take this opportunity to say sorry"
However, Eto'o was less than convinced his tackle on Suarez merited a penalty.
He also defended referee Howard Webb, who has been criticised by some Liverpool fans for his performance. He insists that "The ref did not influence the result." contrary to what Liverpool fans believe
He does not understand the fuss about his exchange of T-shirt with Sakho of Liverpool at half time after all even at war there is fair play
About team-mate Eden Hazard  he says,"What a fantastic player he is,"
"He understands that the important games are played by big players with charisma. It's an honour to play by his side."

Geologist Says Discovery of Oil in Bauchi is False

The claim of oil or gas at the Benue trough in Bauchi State has been described as mere political statement rather than an economic fortune, a geologist in the state, Dahiru am Mohammed Kafi, has said.
“Where is the oil or gas in Bauchi State? What evidence do you have? I’m a professional and when you say there is something you have to show me evidence, there is no information whatsoever to indicate the quantity of oil or gas available in Bauchi State,” he queried.
According to him, you can find some quantity of oil or gas which is not economical to exploit, recalling that the last attempt to find oil in Bauchi State was between 15 to 20 years ago,
Kafi, however, admitted: “I pray that there is oil in Bauchi State and I pray also that we can get it. And there has been a lot of improvement in technology today where even in the Delta region, places that have been exploited before and found dry are today finding oil because new technology has been employed.”
Kafi in an interview with journalists in Bauchi, at the weekend, stressed the need for the use of new technology in the state oil discovery bid to ensure that whatever was achieved becomes a reality.

Plot To Remove Tambuwal A Hoax

Tambuwal

Contrary to what has been widely reported by some newspapers and online media, The House of Representatives has dismissed reports of a plot, being hatched by the presidency in conjunction with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remove the Speaker, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, by bribing lawmakers.
House Committee Chairman on Media and Publicity, Hon. Zakari Mohammed (APC, Kwara), told THISDAY in a telephone interview that the issue was a mere rumour.
Some newspapers and online media had reported, citing sources  that the PDP  and  the presidency had resorted to subterfuge and cash to remove Tambuwal, who is seen as supporting the opposition.
The report had claimed that each lawmaker was allegedly given  $25,000 in the first instance and with a promise that more would be given after the removal of the speaker.
But Mohammed said nobody could influence the removal of Tambuwal, stressing that neither PDP nor the presidency would succeed in engineering such a process.
Insisting that it was all rumour, that they choose their speaker against all odds and would stand by him through thick or thin.

CNPP TO APC: Dont Accept More PDP Defectors!

While there is every likelihood of more Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faithful defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the New Year, the Conference of Nigeria Peoples Party, CNPP, has placed an urgent call on the APC not to admit fresh defectors from the ruling party.
The group argues that the admission of more PDP defectors to the APC fold could bring about a one-party system in the country, which should be avoided.
According to PREMIUM TIMES   , It stated this in  a statement on Sunday by its spokesperson, Osita Okechukwu.
Governors Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State and Chibuike Amaechi had hinted that more PDP members and governors would soon leave the party.
Both men were among the five PDP governors who, on November 26, dumped the ruling party for the APC. The other governors were Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa) and Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara).
Similarly, 37 members of the House of Representatives recently left the PDP for the APC, thus making the latter the majority party in the lower legislative chamber.
There were reports that about 22 senators were getting prepared to dump the ruling PDP, which has dominated the National Assembly since the return of democracy in 1999.

Army Warns Churches Against End- of- Year Service In Adamawa State

Yola - The 23rd Brigade of Nigerian Army in  Yola has advised the Christian community in Adamawa to round off their end of year Church services on Tuesday by 10 pm.

The advice was contained in a statement signed by the Brigade’s Public Relations Officer, Ja'aafaru Nuhu.

PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE LAMBLASTS PRESIDENCY OVER CHRISTMAS COW GIFT

According to Sahara Reporters, the presiding overseer of the Latter Rain Church and the convener of Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare has lambasted the Presidency for giving him a cow as gift this Christmas.

“I had a cow from the Presidency. I didn’t ask for it. They dropped it at the Save Nigeria Group office… But is it cow that we need? If you check their books, one cow could have been bought for $5,000. The rest of the money is pocketed! We don’t need cow, we need a country that will move forward!” he told his congregation in Lagos on Sunday.

He added that “they prevailed on me not to return it. Thanks for the cow, but no thanks! That means no cow for me next year (laughs). But we will have good roads, schools etc! We are the cause of our problems. We feel big when Mr President sends us hampers etc… We go to them for contracts etc… Until we change ourselves, we cannot expect change from those who lead us!”

He said he was giving out the cow, and added that the problem with Nigeria was that low men occupied high places.
