60 Suspected Insurgents Bomb Ekiti Prison, Free Associates
About 60 gunmen atttacked the Federal Prisons Ado Ekiti, located at Afao Ekiti Road, Ekiti State at about 10.30pm on Sunday, kill at least one prison official and freed their wounded colleagues, who had earlie been remanded there.
However as at the time of this report the number of those freed could not be confirmed.
According to Vanguard
A local leader of the Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, Mr Ade Adeniyi (Apase) was at the prison at the time of the attack. He was, however, said to have remained inside the prison even as other inmates fled. The prison is the only one in Ekiti State.

Fayose Has Sealed My Office ––Ekiti Speaker Cries Out
The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr. Adewale Omirin, said the Governor had ordered the sealing off of his office and taken several other unconstitutional actions against his person and office.
This, the Speaker claimed, followed the action of seven PDP members of Ekiti State House of Assembly who illegally sat to attempt to change the leadership of the House, but only succeeded in approving the reconstitution of the local government caretaker committees and confirmation of the commissioner-nominees sent to the House of Assembly last week by Fayose.

Police Arrests Ekiti APC Leader and Others For Armed Robbery

The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos, on Monday paraded a chief of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Itunnu Odeyemi and eight others, saying they were notorious for the snatching exotic cars in parts of the country.
The arrest of Ajewole, a 28-year-old man from Ilesha, Osun State, had led to the arrest of other members of the gang which included Itunnu Odeyemi, who Ajewole also claimed was his political godfather.
But while speaking with journalists, Odeyemi denied being a member of any robbery gang. He said he provided Ajewole with a locally-made gun, which the police have recovered, to protect him during the period of the recently concluded governorship election in Ekiti State.

Ekiti Governor-elect Ayo Fayose Sill Has A Case To Answer - EFCC

Ayo Fayose may have won the election in Ekiti state but he still has a corruption case to answer, this is according to EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren.
Speaking with Punch Yesterday, Mr. Uwujaren said Fayose's election has not affected his ongoing trial at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti, for alleged corruption.
"The EFCC has not dropped the case against the former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose. The trial is still going on; it is continuing at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti. In fact further hearing comes up on July 15, 2014.

Renowned Man of God and Prophet, T.B. Joshua, has debunked rumours flying around that Ayodele Fayose, former Ekiti state governor had received ‘blessings from him ahead of tomorrow’s gubernatorial elections in the state.
Report had surfaced online some months back that Fayose who is the PDP flag bearer in today’s elections had been blessed by T.B. Joshua to win the elections.
Reacting to this report, the man of God took to his official Facebook page to say, his name should not be brought into politics.

MOPOL Commander Who Attacked Gov Fayemi Was President Jonathan's ADC In Bayelsa State (PHOTOS)

It's now clear that the MOPOL Commander who threw professionalism to the wind and attacked the governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, on Sunday is actually connected to President Goodluck Jonathan and he is most likely acting based on "orders from above" in favour of his paymaster's candidate.
Credible sources have confirmed that the MOPOL Commander, Gabriel Seleke, was the former Police ADC to Goodluck Jonathan while he was the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

Ekiti State Governor, Fayemi, Attacked By Police Officer In Ekiti
A team of Mobile Police (MOPOL) attacked a street rally on Sunday led by an APC Senator, Babafemi Ojudu, in Ado-Ekiti just a day after President Jonathan campaigned in the state for Fayose. The street rally went on peacefully until the Mobile Police showed up and immediately unleashed a volley of tear-gas canisters into the crowd to scatter the peaceful rally.
As soon as he got the sad report, the governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, drove down to the scene of the attack to ascertain what happened but the rampaging policemen immediately attack him too.

Okada Rider, 26, To Die By Hanging For Kidnapping, Murdering Female NYSC Member (PICTURED)

Yesterday, Theophilus Pius, 26, was sentenced to death by hanging for murdering a female NYSC corps member Anthonia Okeke.
Justice Adegoriola Adeleye of Ekiti State High Court also sentenced Mr. Pius to ten years of imprisonment for kidnapping the late Anthonia.
On December 19, 2008, Mr. Pius, a former commercial motorcyclist, conspired with others to kidnap and later murder Ms. Okeke, a serving National Youth Service Corps member, in Ilawe-Ekiti.

How I Discovered That My Wife’s Boss Is The Father Of Our Child – Husband Tells Court
57-year-old Isaac Jemibola has petitioned a Customary court sitting in the Ikole area of the state to dissolve his marriage to 48-year-old Olayemi due to adultery on her part.
Isaac Jemibola, seeking the end of his 25-year-old marriage has revealed how he discovered that he did not father his wife’s fourth child.
According to Mr. Jemibola, his wife confessed to the illicit affair which took place in 2002 and further told him that the fourth child wasn’t his but was instead fathered by her former boss.
The Tribune reports:
He urged the court in the petition filed on January 21, to grant him custody of the five children from the marriage. The petitioner told the court that he married Olayemi in 1989 according to the native law and custom. According to him, after retiring to bed on January 19, my wife came to me and knelt down.

TRAGEDY: Man Set Ablaze In Ekiti For Killing Woman
It was a case of double tragedy on Sunday evening in Ise-Ekiti area of
Ekiti State when a young man simply identified as Austin was set ablaze
by angry youths after he had allegedly shot to death his landlord's
daughter.
The shooting incident was said to have caused tension in the community
as the angry youths apprehended Austin and set him ablaze at a motor
park.
Also, it was gathered that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ise
Police station was hit on the head by the angry youths for attempting to
rescue Austin just before he was lynched.
Austin said to be in his late 30s and a trader reportedly shot the girl
in front of her father's house at Iro Oraye area of the town.
