! Governor Amaechi’s Uncle Murdered, Dismembered

 Sabinus Ordu, the Vice Principal of Community Secondary School in Ikwerre and uncle of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State was on Monday, 8th of September murdered.
According to the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, Mr Ordu on returning from work, went to his farm and never returned. A search party went out at around 8pm to find him, when he didn’t return home, but found his dismembered body by a bush path.
Late Ordu and Governor Amaechi share the same grandparent, but the governor regards him as his uncle.

Following are the reactions of some citizens to the news of the arrest of Governor Ameachi of Rivers State.

AMEACHI, OBASANJO AT FAITH SAKWE, PRESIDENT JONATHAN'S DAUGHTER,S WEDDING

The wedding of the President's daughter on Saturday reunited the President with former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.

The relationship between Amaechi and the President had been strained since the polarisation of the Nigerian Governors Forum, which saw  the Presidency backing Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State against the Rivers State governor.
The relationship between Jonathan and Obasanjo became sour when the former President wrote a public letter last year, accusing the President of putting some persons on a watch list, condoning corruption and engaging in acts  capable of destroying the country, among other weighty allegations.
The President had replied the letter, saying Obasanjo’s letter was designed to incite Nigerians from other geopolitical zones against him and also calculated to promote ethnic disharmony.

Why Rotimi Amaechi Left Paul Okoye’s Wedding

Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, stormed out of the traditional marriage ceremony of Paul Okoye barely 30 minutes after he arrived, because the ceremony did not start on time.
The governor came in around 2pm and, as he alighted from his vehicle, his aides informed him that the event had not started and neither the couple nor celebrity guests had arrived.
He responded, ‘If we wait for some time and they don’t come, we will leave. I don’t have time for all this.’

Rivers PDP Threaten Massive Protest, Give Gov. Ameachi 72 Hours To Release Kidnaped Members

The  Governor Amaechi-led government has been given 72 hours by the Rivers State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure that three members of the party who were kidnapped yesterday are released unhurt.
The abducted men include the Port Harcourt Local Government PDP Chairman, Ikechi Chinda; a former member of the House of Representatives representing Port Harcourt Federal Constituency I, Hon Chinyere Igwe; and Alwell Ihunda.
The Rivers State PDP Chairman, Felix Obuah gave the ultimatum to the government during a news briefing today in Port Harcourt.

Governor Ameachi Enumerates His Reasons For Leaving PDP

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has revealed more reasons why he dumped the PDP and joined the APC, citing undue interference in the governance of Rivers State by the wife of the President, Mrs Patience Jonathan as one of the main reasons, among several others.

 “The basic reason why we left PDP is because of the resources of Rivers State. I have told all of you on several occasions that the wife of the President was not elected the governor of Rivers State. I was elected and I am not in any way the wife of the President; I am the governor of Rivers State and husband to Judith Amaechi.
