Boko Haram kidnaps Female Soldiers During Gun Battle At Military Base
Of the 26 female soldiers posted to the military base of the Multinational Joint Task Force that was attacked and taken over by Boko Haram terrorists, only eight have so far been accounted for.
.
Residents and security sources said the insurgent attack lasted close to 18 hours before the Islamist terrorists overpowered the troops and seized the military base.
Residents of Baga confirmed to SR that Boko Haram insurgents invaded their town and killed at least 55 people, including soldiers attached to MNJTF.

Lt. Col., 15 Others Jailed Over Chibok Girls’ Abduction
The Nigerian Army has sentenced three officers and 13 other soldiers to two years’ imprisonment each over the April 14, 2014 abduction of over 200 schoolchildren from their hostel in Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram insurgents.
The soldiers, including a Lieutenant Colonel, a Captain and a Second lieutenant, were arraigned before a General Military Court Martial at the Maxwell Khobe Military Cantonment, Rukuba in Jos, Plateau State, in October 2014.
The officers are Col. A. O. Ojo, Capt. O. O. Ogunrinde, and 2nd Lieutenant V.I. Godknows.

A statement from the Nigerian Military reads:
Troops in pursuit of terrorists had an encounter with a group of them at Muva Junction yesterday. The fierce encounter resulted in substantial casualties including loss of lives & equipment on both sides.

Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh Reacts To Claims Helicopters Evacuated His Family Hours Before Boko Haram Attacked Mubi

There was a report that the Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff ,Alex Badeh evacuated his family with a helicopter shortly before Boko Haram insurgents took over his own town.A response has been issued to the claims as published on the Defence HQ website
The attention of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has been drawn to an article with the caption, “The Helicopters that evacuated CDS Badeh’s family from Mubi: A lesson for All Nigerians” written by a certain Elvis Iyorngurum and posted in an on-line news outlet, NewsRescue.com on the 6th of November, 2014. The said article which contained strings of deliberate falsehood and spurious allegations claimed that few hours before the attack on Mubi by the terrorists, the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal AS Badeh flew in helicopters and evacuated his family from the town and abandoned everyone else to their fate.

Photo: Army Releases 42 Suspected Boko Haram Members In Borno

Yesterday, 6th of November, 42 suspected members of Boko Haram were released to the Borno state government after investigations carried out by the Nigerian army showed they had no ties with the sect.
Presenting the released suspects to the state governor, Kashim Shettima, the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations of the 7 Division, Col. Sanni Usman said investigations showed the men who were arrested at various times in Maiduguri and other parts in Borno state, had no connection with the sect.

Nigerian Army Retires 15 Generals
The Nigerian Army has retired 15 generals from the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME) Auchi, Edo State, from active service. Among the 15, are 10 brigadier-generals while the remaining five are major-generals.
The names of the major-generals are:
Edem Ekwo, Thompson Oliomoghe, Richard Maduegbunam, Friday Airende and Abass Adekanye, while the brigadier generals include Idi Adamu, Patrick Oviaghase, Samuel Ayo, Peter Aremu, Jacob Amao, Joshua Ibilaye, Ibrahim Alawode, Samuel Adesogan, Chukwuka Ani and Abel Okpeki.
Speaking at a pulling out parade held in honour of the retirees, the corps commander of NASEME, Major General S. Labaran said that the retired officers served the country meritoriously.

Gallant Soldiers Reclaim Michika, Kill Hundreds Of Boko Haram Members

A fierce battle is said to be ongoing as at the time of reporting, between Boko Haram and Nigerian troops who have intensified efforts to reclaim territories captured by the terrorists in northern Adamawa.
Reports indicate that over 100 Boko Haram members have been killed in the latest offensive as Nigerian troops forced the terrorists out of Michika town which had been under their bloody grip for a month.
Troops are reportedly advancing towards Gulak in consolidation of the successes they have recorded but the insurgents were reported to have regrouped and launched an offensive against them, leading to the fierce battle between the two sides.
“The Nigerian troops have gained entry into Michika and are now fully in control of the town, having dealt a severe blow to the insurgents, as they lost about 100 members; some escaped with injuries sustained from gun shots,” said a source.

Nigerian Military Swear Vengeance For Beheaded Pilot, Issues New Order

The Defence Headquarters, Abuja, has sworn to avenge the death of a pilot of the Nigeria Air Force who was claimed to have been beheaded in a new video released by Boko Haram.
The Nation reports that DHQ in a reaction to the incident ordered massive air strikes on the Boko Haram sect, as well as take delivery of Cobra gunships soonest.
The order was given after the DHQ had earlier on Friday debunked the claims of the pilot being killed by theterrorists, but friends of the pilot on Saturday, took the social media and made clarifications that it was indeed the pilot that was killed. The friends who called themselves the Nigerian Army Support Group gave the name of the deceased pilot as Chimda Hedima, a 39-year-old Wing Commander with the Nigerian Air Force.

Nigerian Army Charge 97 Officers, Soldiers To General Court Martial

A general court-martial has been inaugurated to hear charges against 97 soldiers, including 16 officers accused of mutiny, assault, cowardice and refusing to fight members of Boko Haram in the north eastern part of the country.
The latest trial comes two weeks after 12 soldiers were sentenced to death by firing squad for mutiny and attempted murder of their Commanding Officer in Maiduguri, Borno State.
After the President of the general court martial and other members of the panel took their oath of office, signalling the commencement of the trial, there was an argument between the defence lawyers and the Judge-Advocate of the court martial, Lieutenant-Colonel Ukpe Ukpe.

Nigerian Soldiers Captured Boko Haram’s "ICT Expert"

The aftermath of another heavy defeat of Boko Haram terrorists who launched another attack weekend on the now troubled Konduga town in a bid to reclaim the dead body of the impostor of Abubakar Shekau, (Mohammed Bashir), the military has arrested a foreign computer expert who is said to be behind the several video shots sent to online media organization and foreign media houses.
He was said to have been arrested with some sophisticated equipment and copies of some of the videos the terrorists had sent to online media houses on their escapades including that of the abducted Chibok girls.

DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS: Boko Haram Is Looting Our Armoury
The Defence Headquarters has said that it was aware that members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect are in the habit of looting its armoury. The military authorities stated that they were making efforts to secure all armouries in its various formations across the country.
Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, made the disclosure during his first real-time Twitter chat which held on Sunday night.
The army general was, however, not categorical about the grades of weapons just as he did not name the armouries that have so far been looted by the insurgents.

Boko Haram: Two Shekau’s Down; Who's Next?

By now, the Nigerian military should be picking up a few useful insights into guerrilla warfare, which is going to be the preferred face of armed confrontation in the foreseeable future. During the conflict in the Niger Delta between the militants and the Nigerian Armed Forces, the militants used two names to issue public statements and threats: Jomo Gbomo and Cynthia Whyte.
Gbomo has fallen mute since the 2011 Independence Day bombing in Abuja, when the leader of MEND, Henry Okah, was apprehended and put on trial in South Africa.
It is Cynthia Whyte that is still talking any time MEND or those parading with the name issue a threat or claim responsibility for some mishap in the Niger Delta to prove they are still active even after five years of the Amnesty programme.
Soldiers Have Captured Boko Haram's Monstrous Armored Tank

Nigerian military intelligence officials say they were surprised at the sophisticated weapons being used by the Boko Haram insurgents. The reaction came after Nigerian troops captured a T-55 armored tank and a highly sophisticate Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) from the Islamist insurgents in a heavy fire battle at Konduga, the second biggest town in Borno State.
The sources said Boko Haram fighters made another big and desperate push to take Konduga, a town that has been the scene of incessant battles and disastrous outings for Boko Haram fighters in recent weeks.

BOKO HARAM: Damaturu Residents Rejoice Over Army’s Victory
Damaturu—A cross section of Damaturu residents yesterday, expressed joy over the recent victory of the Nigerian army over members of the Boko Haram sect in the North-East of the country.
They expressed their feelings in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Damaturu, the Yobe capital.
Alhaji Ali Musa, a resident of Damaturu, told NAN that “the rededication of the security agents in the fight against insurgency has given us psychological relief with a sense of security.”
He also expressed delight over the reported killing of the sect’s leader, Abubakar Shekau.

Nigerian Military Killed "Shekau' See Photo Proof

Amid conflicting reports on the death of Boko Haram leader Shekau the Millitary has come up with more photo evidence to back up their claim that the current leader of the sect was indeed the one killed by the military.
The Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, said during a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, that the corpse of the insurgents’ leader was identified by the people of Kodunga.
He said Shekau's real name is Mohammed Bashir. Olukolade illustrated the Defence authorities claim with pictures of the bullet-ridden corpse of Shekau and a video of the battle in which he was killed.
But a journalist close to Boko Haram, Ahmad Salkida, had it on “authority” that Shekau is alive.

Fleeing Boko Haram Men Surrender To Nigerian Soldiers

Finally, Nigeria soldiers are beginning to win the war against terrorism, it was gathered from credible sources in and around the troubled North-Eastern Nigeria. Calm is returning to most towns.
Following the several defeats suffered by the Boko Haram terrorists in the hands of the Special Forces of the Nigerian military, some of the insurgents have lay down their arms and surrendered to the troops.
According to military sources, some of the surrendered terrorists are already giving useful information.
