Governor Uduaghan, David Mark, other PDP dignitaries were on hand to make the occasion a success . The inauguration took place in Abuja yesterday January 6th.

President Jonathan’s Campaign Team Inauguration Postponed Over Sister’s Death





 Members of the Presidential campaign team were unable to kick start their work as  President Jonathan was unable to make it to the PDP’s presidential Campaign office in Abuja, the venue of the inauguration of his campaign team yesterday over the death of his sister whom he lost on Sunday.

Members of the team and guests were seated waiting for the arrival of the President when his Special Adviser on Political Matters announced the postponement, stating that it was due to his loss.

Don’t Leave PDP, Jonathan Begs Akala, Maku, Obanikoro, others





President Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who lost at the primaries to remain in party in the interest of democracy.

Mr. Jonathan made the appeal on Saturday night while speaking at the PDP fund raising dinner held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said that the leadership of the party was working to resolve all outstanding issues in the congresses and primaries.

I Get Contradictory Advice On Issues, Says President Jonathan





Speaking at the 2014 Carol Service organized by the Aso Rock Chapel at the state house yesterday December 18th, President Jonathan said that for every decision he has had to take as a leader, he tries to get advise from as many people as possible and sometimes, the advise he gets are contradictory.
In his words:

    "We pray that God should give those of us who are in charge the grace to do things with the fear of God. If we begin to do what is right in our own little way, this nation will survive. God knows why we are here. Nobody will place himself in any position without God. So, God that gives all of us the opportunity, will see us through.

APC PRESIDENTIAL TICKET: President Jonathan Congratulates Buhari




President Jonathan's aide,  Reno Omokri,  has congratulated General Buhari on his emergence as the APC presidential candidate yesterday.

 Special Assistant on New Media, Reno Omokri, in the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship took to his twitter handle, @renoomokri to congratulate Buhari on his victory at the Presidential primaries of the parties.

Jonathan To Politicians: Stop Quarreling Like motor Park Touts




President Goodluck Jonathan, has cautioned politicians in the country against turning the democratic process into a motor park where touts quarrel indecorously.

“I think we are over defining our democracy today by quarrelling as if democracy is about competitors quarreling just like motor park workers”, Jonathan stated, even as he implored the political class to put Nigerians first by thinking of how to bring development to the people ahead of the 2015 polls.

More than seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors this morning arrived the Abeokuta, Ogun State, hilltop residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to persuade him to work for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in next year’s presidential election.

Two of the governors, Liyel Imoke of Cross River State and Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, arrived Obasanjo’s residence at 12.55 p.m. and swiftly moved into the house w…ithout any banters with journalists who were there.

'I’m Suffering For Not Stopping Tambuwal From Emerging Speaker' - President Jonathan




President Goodluck Jonathan says he regrets his inability to have a South West politician as Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2011. Speaking at a Yoruba Unity Summit at the Obafemi Awolowo Uni, Ile-Ife, Jonathan attributed his failure to the selfishness of some Yoruba leaders.

In 2011, Aminu Tambuwal, who is from the Northwest, had defeated Mulikat Akande, a Yoruba from the South West, to emerge the House Speaker.

63 Out Of 109 Senators From Both Parties Sign To Impeach President Jonathan?




.SIXTY-three senators as of Thursday have signed up to the plan to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber, The PUNCH learnt in Abuja.

One of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed our correspondent the list containing the signatures of the senators. The source said eight Peoples Democratic Party senators were among the signatories to the planned impeachment notice.

There are 109 members in the Senate.

I Hardly Get What I Want In Life - President Jonathan




President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday told a gathering of the Peoples Democratic Party leaders at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, that he hardly gets those things he looked forward to in his life.

Jonathan, who boasted that no party would defeat the PDP during the 2015 polls said sometimes, things that he did not think about are the ones he gets.

    In his words, “In my own life, the things I look for I hardly get. It’s what I don’t even think about that I get sometimes. I believe most of you will smile. But collectively, first and foremost, let us unite the party and work together for our collective victory.”

Seven months after that declaration, you elected me to lead this country with overwhelming support from all parts of our Nation..."

President Jonathan Leaves For Pilgrimage To Israel






 President Goodluck Jonathan will on Friday depart Lagos on a brief pilgrimage to Israel, his office said in a statement on Thursday.

The statement issued in Abuja by Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said that Jonathan would visit Christian Holy sites during the pilgrimage.

According to the statement, he will join other Nigerian pilgrims in a prayer session for the well-being and progress of the country at an Inter-Denominational Service in Jerusalem on Sunday.

President Jonathan In Closed Door Meeting With Modu Sheriff




President Goodluck Jonathan and former Borno State Governor Ali-Modu Sheriff were reportedly in a closed door meeting yesterday, the meeting took place at the presidential villa, Abuja.

Modu Sheriff, who came out of the president’s office some minutes after former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Gen. Buba Marwa stepped out, refused initially to talk with journalists, saying there was no time

But LEADERSHIP gathered that Jonathan’s meeting with Modu Sheriff might not be unconnected with the current negotiations between the federal government and the Boko Haram group which led to the declaration of a ceasefire and reported plans for the release of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted in Chibok, Borno State on April 14, 2014.

President Jonathan Demands Apology, Calls Inclusion In List Of Richest African Presidents BASELESS AND LIBELOUS




Yesterday, a report was published by richestlist.com, listing President Jonathan as the 6th Richest African President,with a net worth of $100million dollars.
Here is a state house release demanding a retraction and an apology:

    We have noted with consternation the listing of President  Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by a website – RichestLifestyle.com - as the sixth richest African President with an estimated net worth of $100 Million U.S. Dollars.

    The Presidency condemns the totally unwarranted inclusion of President Jonathan in the publication titled “Africa’s Richest Presidents 2014” as another attempt to unjustifiably portray the President as a corrupt leader and incite public disaffection against him.
