Your Tarrifs Are Exploitative - Oshiomhole To New Electricity Company, BEDC
Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has condemned the arbitrary energy tariff and fixed charge by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).
Oshiomhole has said that the charges BEDC where implementing is very “exploitative” and “irresponsible to its consumers.
The governor reminded that the reason for privatisation is to improve entrepreneurial efficiency and not trump up prices.
Oshiomhole said: “You (BEDC) will recall that the first day I formally receive you in my office, I made some factual statement that the essence of privatisation was the increase in entrepreneurial efficiency.

Oshiomole Splashes 14 Million on 7 Police Officer's Widows
Seven widows of police officers who died in the line of duty received cash gifts from Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo state today.
He donated N14million (N2million each) to seven police officer's widows who died in the line of duty. Addressing the women, the governor said he was moved by their plight as well as the great service their husbands gave to the state. He also announced that N500,000 would be given to each of the children of the seven police officers.
The Governor said he hoped this act would help spur other police officers who are still in active force to be more dedicated to their duties so that posterity would remember them for good.

Governor Oshiomhole is Healthy, Hale and Hearty
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Louis Odion was yesterday reacting to the rumour about the Governor’s treatment abroad after an accident involving his convoy occurred late last year.
He stated the Governor is not receiving any treatment abroad, saying he was healthy, hale and hearty and would be on ground during the weekly state cabinet meeting scheduled to hold at the Government House on Monday.
He confirmed that he was with the Governor abroad, shortly before he returned to the country during the week, assuring that Governor Oshiomhole will be back this weekend.
