The burglars destroyed security cameras. An attempt on Skype Bank failed.  How much money was stolen remains unknown.
Sources told us the University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Femi Mimiko and top bank officials for Ikare and Akure headquarters visited the crime scene.
The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) spokesman in the state, ASP Wole Ogbodo, said the robbery incident was reported at the Ikare divisional quarters.
Ogbodo said the robbery was a surprise because it was the first time such an incident has happened on the University campus.

He blamed the escape of the robbers on University management because there was no burglary alarm, and was critical the banks lacked strong security doors.
He said nobody had been arrested yet.
One of the students said, "We were shocked this morning on our way to class when we got to the school and see everywhere scattered with broken glasses and pieces from the ATM machines".
Another source told Saharareporters they think the burglars are graduates of the University.
