Tukur Finaly Resigns As PDP Chairman


Bamanga Tukur's reign as chairman of PDP finally came to an end today, as President Goodluck Jonathan presented Tukur's resignation letter to the 63rd meeting of the National Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) at the party's secretariat in Abuja.
Tukur had been barred from a crucial meeting of the caucus held yesterday at the Aso Rock Villa
The President read out the resignation letter after pulling it out of an envelope.


At the meeting , which was  attended by Tukur, the president Praised Tukur, promising to give him a bigger assignment as his forced resignation was unwarranted since he had committed no crime.
Sources at the Villa have it that the president is hoping to make Tukur Nigeria's Ambassador to china in the coming days.
According to Mr. President a new chairman of the party will emerge next week Monday.
