Concerned Igbo Leaders of Thought yesterday expressed satisfaction with
the ongoing plans to amend the report of the Senator Femi Okoroumu-led
Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC) on the proposed national dialogue
earlier submitted to President Goodluck Jonathan by the committee.
The committee had recommended that participation in the conference
should be based on federal constituencies.
Igbo leaders as well as well as other geo-political zones, which proposed that the outing should be a conference of ethnic nationalities with the sole aim of producing a new constitution.

Also, following their rejection of the PAC report, Okunroumu had last week berated the leader of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, insisting that they were yet to obtain the details of the committee's report.
But following media report that President Jonathan had called for an
amendment of the report, the Igbo leaders hailed the move, noting that
they had been vindicated by the ongoing amendment process.
They expressed appreciation by the wisdom of PAC to sit down once again
to reflect the true wishes and aspirations of most Nigerians on the
modality for the proposed national conference.
The Igbo leaders also pleaded with the suspected forces sabotaging the
proposed conference to repent and join forces to save Nigeria and
restructure the country that will make truly great again.
The ongoing amendment is aimed at reflecting ethnic representation to
the conference against the earlier recommended delegation by federal
constituencies.
Deputy secretary of the Igbo Leaders of Thought, Elliot Uko, in a
statement yesterday, said the PAC rethought to now present the true
reflection of the wishes of Nigerians was a welcome development.
Uko said: "We did not indict anybody neither are we apportioning
blames. We are grateful to God that the right thing is being done
finally.
"We do not know to what extent PAC is willing to do the right thing but
we believe that our amiable and committed president will always make
sure the right thing is done to move Nigeria forward."
