Why I Refused To Carry Out Sects Assignment-- Boko Haram Suicide Bomber

 Abubakar Sadiq Umar, a 19-year-old Boko Haram trained suicide bomber  who attempted to blow up a divisional police headquarters in Damaturu, Yobe State capital last Sunday, May 4, has reportedly confessed why he refused to carry out the horrendous act.
The suicide bomber stated that his suicide mission was to go to Damaturu, find A Division and trigger off the bomb.
According to him, he came to Damaturu together with a person who guided him as Umar has never been in Damaturu before. The guide took him to the police headquarters (A Division) and asked him to press the remote to trigger off the bomb.
But, Umar didn't accomplished his mission as he was worried that he could kill innocent people. "My worry is that why should I kill myself and other innocent people?" he said.

18-Year-Old Boy Defiles, Kills And Hangs Landlord's 4-Year-Old Daughter In Imo (PHOTOS)

Franklin Njoku, pictured above, a Senior School Certificate Examination candidate who rented a room in a house belonging to one Mr Eze, is currently in police custody after he lured his landlord's four-year-old daughter into the bush, defiled the little girl,  murdered her then hanged her on a dwarf palm tree near their house.

Nigerian Tribune reports that Franklin Njoku, aged 18 years from Ohekelem in Ngorokpala Local Government Area of the state was in Uvuru community to sit for the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) at Aboh Mbaise Secondary School, Uvuru.

DEFENSE HEADQUARTERS REACTS TO BOKO HARAM NEW VIDEO

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) reacted to the daring Boko Haram video, in which the leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau, promised to sell over 200 abducted schoolgirls “in the market”.
The new Shekau video was released on May 5, 2014, Monday, a few hours after President Goodluck Jonathan confirmed during the Presidential Media Chat that his administration had no idea on the whereabouts of the kidnapped GGSS Chibok girls.
In the response by DHQ, obtained by Vanguard from the Director of Defence Information Maj.Gen. Chris Olukolade, the military confirmed that Boko Haram claim would not detract them from the ongoing search and rescue operation, promised to take all the statements and information from the video seriously.

TWO WOMEN IN ABUJA JAILED FOR FIGHTING OVER A MAN

A Senior Magistrates' court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, has sentenced two women, Franca James and Comfort John, to two weeks in prison  for fighting over a man.

James, 33, of Xtracare, Mpape, and John,35, of Karimo, both in Abuja, were charged with disturbing public peace.
The Magistrate, Celestine Odo, sentenced the women after they pleaded guilty to fighting over a man.
The magistrate, however, gave them an option of fine of N2,000 each, and advised them to desist from fighting.
He said that the court was lenient on them because they were first time offenders and had shown remorse over their act.

Gunmen Hijack School Bus In Nyanya, Abuja

A few days after Nyanya suffered a second bomb blast in less than a month, gunmen have just this morning invaded the area taking away a school bus belonging to, Divine Kiddies Academy, fortunately the bus was empty as the pupils who had been picked up from home had alighted the bus before it was taken away by the gunmen.

Parents of the kids have since been trooping into the school premises to pick up their kids.

The Principal of the school confirmed the incident.

WOMAN IN CALABAR CLINGS TO MOVING VEHICLE TO RESCUE ABDUCTED 9 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER

Mrs Priscilla Ekpenyong, on Friday damned the consequences by clinging to a moving vehicle in order to rescue her nine-month-old child, Emmanuella, from the hands of fleeing abductors.

The abductors had  pushed the 23-year-old woman out of the moving vehicle, but she held on to her daughter and was dragged on the tarred road for some distance before the kidnapping was aborted by security operatives.

The incident happened by the Eburutu Army Barracks along the busy Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

Narrating her ordeal at the Police Clinic in Calabar, where she and her daughter received medical attention from bruises sustained during the incident, Priscilla said she boarded the taxi, a Volkswagen Jetta, at the Pyramid Hotel Bus Stop along the highway with another unidentified woman who was carrying a male child.

FIRST LADY ASKS WOMEN TO STOP PROTESTING OVER ABDUCTED SCHOOL GIRLS

 Daily Trust reports that the First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan has asked women to stop protesting over the abducted Chibok girls. Mrs Jonathan expressed her frustration yesterday evening at the unwillingness of the Borno state first lady and other Borno state women to work with her on the missing girls. She said she can't be crying more than the bereaved.

According to Mrs Jonathan who burst into tears as she expressed her displeasure, she said she had called for a meeting with first ladies of the various states as well as some borno state officials to enquire on how the girls were kidnapped and find a way out but was surprised to see that some first ladies attended but the first lady of the state were the unfortunate incident happened did not honour her invitation.

When Boko Haram struck over 2 weeks ago, abducting over 270 school girls in Chibok,Borno State,some were brave enough to escape.Punch caught up with two of them Sawok & Thabita Walse who gave their account of how they escaped..

Can you describe the attack on your school?

Sawok: We were in the hostel. One of the men dressed in military camouflage asked us where our dining hall was. From our hostels, they took us to the dining hall and from there, we were moved into the waiting vehicles and they headed towards Damboa town. The incident happened around 11pm. 

RELEASED PICTURE OF ONE OF THE ABDUCTED CHIBOK GIRLS

A picture of one of the abducted girls has been released. Pictured above is 16 year old Comfort Bulus and according to her uncle Yahi Bwata, in a chat with 99.3 Nigeria Info radio talk show host 4lah, Comfort was in school writing her WAEC exams when she was abducted.

Yahi gave a first hand account of what really happened at Chibok the day the school was attacked and the girls abducted. Plus he described the sorrowful, heartbreaking mood in Chibok right now ever since this abduction of the young schoolgirls aged between 16 to 18.

WE DON'T KNOW WHERE THE ABDUCTED GIRLS ARE - PRESIDENT JONATHAN

 Almost three weeks after over 200 schoolgirls were abducted from a secondary school in Chibok, Borno State, President Goodluck Jonathan has said the Federal Government does not know their   whereabouts.
Jonathan said this on Sunday during the Presidential Media Chat in Abuja.
He also spoke on the probe of the Minister of Petroleum Resources,  Diezani Alison- Madueke,  over  the N10bn  she allegedly spent on a chartered jet, the security measures in place for the World Economic Forum, the power  sector reforms and the 2015 elections.
Asked  if  there was  any confirmed information about where the  kidnapped  schoolgirls are, Jonathan replied, “None; there is none.”
