DETAILED ANALYSIS: Jonathan, =N=9.2 Billion and the 750,000 Cooking Stoves. (MUST READ)
Written by Roman Oseghale
By now I hope all Nigerians know that the country and we all are under a siege of continuous monumental corruption. Over the past two days after hearing that Mr. President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan had budgeted =N=9.2 Billion Naira for the purchase of cooking stoves I decided to do some maths and find out what the actual cost might be.
In my findings after calling people in Nigeria to find out the unit cost of a stove and the manufacturers in China for the production price I came up with the following conclusions.

Loving God and Hating My Wife By Femi Aribisala (MUST READ)
I found this piece by Femi Aribisala on Vanguard, it has created a lot of controversy, with majority of the commentators saying he was not a true Christian . I don't want to sway you so read and tell us you think
When a man who loves his wife meets the Lord, the Lord will set his wife against him.
The love we are expected to have for God does not permit any other love. As a matter of fact, if we love God, we must hate everyone else. We must love our neighbour but not because we love him. We must love our neighbour because we love God. God’s love tolerates no rivals. He says: “I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God.” (Exodus 20:5).
I learnt this the hard way. My wife, Karen, was the love of my life. She was my very first love. It was love at first sight when I met her in high school in Rome. I proposed to her at the age of 16 and got married to her at 25. Marrying her is one of the very best decisions I have ever made. I honestly cannot imagine myself being married to anyone else. But something totally unexpected happened to me at the age of 41.
I fell in love with Jesus Christ.
Battle royal
I never imagined there would be conflict between my love for my wife and my new-found love for God. How wrong that proved to be. The love of God is very exacting. It is an all-or-nothing love. Jesus would not tolerate my great devotion for my wife; and my wife soon had issues with my passion for God. I expected the Lord to be the prince of peace in my home. Instead, he deliberately instigated conflicts between my wife and me.
For instance, he once said to me: “Femi, I don’t want you to speak to anybody else but me for the next three days.” Of course, I had to alert my wife about this. As can be expected, she was not amused. “How can God say that?” she complained. “Doesn’t he know you are married?”
The fact that I am married is precisely why he said it. “The LORD tests the heart.” (Proverbs 17:3). He wants to know who we love. Jesus asked Peter: “Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?” (John 21:15). I was caught between two implacable lovers; with neither prepared to yield. The battles for my affections were not only ferocious, they were relentless.
Prince of sword
Jesus says: “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’” (Matthew 10:34-36).
The same dynamic applies to a man and his wife. When a man who loves his wife meets the Lord, the Lord will set his wife against him. Husbands and wives don’t start at the same level of faith, and this is often problematic. The Jesus known to the husband might even be different from the one known to the wife; to the irritation and aggravation of their relationship. But the Lord must be our one and only love.
Jesus says: “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” (Matthew 6:24). If a man loves God and loves his wife, there will be inevitable conflicts of interest. God might require him to do one thing out of his love for him. But his wife might want him to do the opposite.
One day, my wife was going to Sri Lanka for a conference. The Lord said to me: “Femi, you must not miss her.” I knew then that I had to be careful. I did not want the Lord to take my wife away. A few days later, Karen phoned me from Sri Lanka. Her first question was: “Do you miss me?” I said to myself: “this woman wants to get me into trouble.” To her annoyance, I refused to answer.
Love and obedience
Any demand that contradicts the Lord is Satanic. We must reject it out of hand. Accordingly, Jesus rebuked Peter: “Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” (Matthew 16:23). Having learnt his lesson, Peter says: “We must obey God rather than men!” (Acts 5:29). To love God is to obey God. Jesus says: “If you love me, obey me.” (John 14:15). We are the servant of whoever we obey.
The love of God must be our one and only motivation. The only acceptable reason for any and every action we take or don’t take must be the love of God. God’s love purifies the heart. We love our neighbour not because he is lovable, but because our love for God says we should. We love our wives because of the enablement of our God who is love. Jesus says: “Without me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Mary provides further counsel: “Do whatever (Jesus) tells you.” (John 2:5).
Our love for God is far superior to any other love. The love of a man for his wife is exclusive; therefore it is selfish. Selfish love is fundamentally sinful; it promotes sin. A man might even kill out of love for his wife. He might steal out of love for his children. However, the man who loves God does not sin. The man who loves God obeys God’s command to love his neighbour. The man who loves God takes good care of his wife. But he does this because of his love for God, and not because of his love for his wife.
Undivided heart
In the end, I had no choice but to sit my wife down and give her the bad news: “The Lord is now the love of my life.” That means in all situations and circumstances, my actions and inactions would be guided solely by my love for God, and not by my love for her. This position is actually to my wife’s advantage. Nevertheless, she considered it to be a betrayal of my love for her and has not completely forgiven me for it.
The Lord says: “My son, give me your heart.” (Proverbs 23:26). We cannot oblige if our heart is already given to someone else. If we oblige, we cannot divide our heart and share it between the Lord and someone else. Our eyes must be single and our hearts undivided.
According to Jesus, this is the most important commandment of all: “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” (Mark 12:29-30).
This leaves no room for loving anyone else but the Lord. It requires that all the love in our heart must be devoted to the Lord and to him alone. Jesus says: “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26).
Instead of seeking to understand this difficult commandment, most Christians simply ignore it.

OPINION: 'Religion/Mumugiousity’ - By Charly Boy
Article written by Charly Boy
For starters, don't pick up the dictionary to lookup ‘Mumugiousity’, I coined it myself but you go soon grab weytin I wan yarn.
As I approach this topic I want to be careful so readers don't get the whole essence of this write up, twisted. E no dey hard some people. Religion is a touchy subject for a lot of people and in my household it is generally not considered "polite conversation."
For some, an attack on religion is an attack on their god or gods. I only wish to put down certain points or aspects of organized religion I’m not comfortable with, I am not questioning anyone's belief in a personal god.

Linda Ikeji, The Haters And Hounds

Linda Ikeji affects us all; just like the Premier league (hope that’s how it’s spelt), enough Nigerians are engaged in the LIB for those who may not, to know and appreciate that being the #2 indigenous website in Nigeria – second to Nairaland only – and the #1 news site and #1 African indigenous personality blog in history, our friends are most likely fans and addicts of hers and thus it serves as a primary means by which they are informed and we are influenced if we happen not to be readers.
The summary of the challenge that took her down (temporarily) is this tweet by a certain figure who suddenly appeared from obscurity.
"People still don't get it, this Linda issue is not about credit, it is about seeking permission before usage. Plain and simple."

X-raying The Motives Of Overnight Artiste-Politicians

by Theophilus Ilevbare
Just when we were coming to terms with the precipitous foray to the political scene of some entertainers like Gongo Aso crooner, Abolore Akande popularly known as 9ice, gospel singer, Kenny Saint Best and actor, Desmond Elliot, all of whom have in recent time declared their political ambition and aligned themselves with political parties, Tony Tetuila (reals names, Anthony Olarenwaju) has quickly joined the burgeoning list of Nigerian artistes vying for elective positions in next year’s general election.
Even if the joke sounds too expensive and only himself believes it, popular stand-up comedian, Julius Agwu, thinks he can become the next governor of Rivers state. The list of intending artiste-politicians keeps growing as the bandwagon syndrome catches up with more of them. Before the end of the year, more artistes will throw their hat in the ring.

Must Read! Abubakar Shekau: Nine Lives Or Nine Liars

Article below was written by Dr. Peregrino Brimah of ENDS.ng.
So long as the Francophone media is bent on dragging Nigeria to its begging knees, Shekau will never die. The controversy on the death of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau is one that is entirely manufactured by Globalist media. It is nothing less than media terrorism by the desperate colonialists. But these globalist media cannot be solely blamed.
It is us who have Boko Haram sponsors in the Presidency and as our army Chiefs after all. Protected, supported and paid with billions by our President. We have no credibility and as long as this nation keeps such clueless and adamantly wicked men at its helm, the globalist media will continue to disgrace and terrorize us and will keep Shekau immortal.

Boko Haram: Two Shekau’s Down; Who's Next?

By now, the Nigerian military should be picking up a few useful insights into guerrilla warfare, which is going to be the preferred face of armed confrontation in the foreseeable future. During the conflict in the Niger Delta between the militants and the Nigerian Armed Forces, the militants used two names to issue public statements and threats: Jomo Gbomo and Cynthia Whyte.
Gbomo has fallen mute since the 2011 Independence Day bombing in Abuja, when the leader of MEND, Henry Okah, was apprehended and put on trial in South Africa.
It is Cynthia Whyte that is still talking any time MEND or those parading with the name issue a threat or claim responsibility for some mishap in the Niger Delta to prove they are still active even after five years of the Amnesty programme.

What Man Of God Is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome - Femi Aribisala
v
Christian pastors have become demigods. Their word is law; no questions asked. As Jesus said, they teach as doctrines the commandments of men. (Matthew 15:9). They come up with all kinds of self-serving principles that turn scripture on its head; just in order to justify themselves before men and control their lives. I want to discuss Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
Man of God
Pastor Chris is going through a rough patch at the moment. His wife, Pastor Anita, has filed for divorce, accusing him of having inappropriate relationships with female church members, among other things. Instead of waiting for his day in court, Pastor Chris has resorted to bogus interpretations of the scriptures; even proclaiming he is a “man of God” and therefore above sin.
Pastor Chris declared to his congregation through a live telecast: “There are preachers and there are men of God. I am not a preacher; I am a man of God, and I go in the way I’m asked to go. You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures, you will not find one man of God go against God, sinning against God.”

Finally, Boko Haram Sponsor Inside CBN Has Been Exposed
Excerpts from an article written by Prof Wole Soyinka published on the 13th of September. He talks about Stephen Davis, Ali Modu Sheriff among others There are indications that the CBN officer working with Boko Haram has been been unmasked
On General Azubuike Ihejirika
Regarding General Ihejirika, I have my own theories regarding how he may have come under Stephen Davis’ searchlight in the first place, ending up on his list of the inculpated. All I shall propose at this stage is that an international panel be set up to examine all allegations, irrespective of status or office of any accused.
On Stephen Davis
Well, while awaiting the Chibok girls, and in that very connection, there is at least an individual whom the nation needs to bring back, and urgently. His name is Stephen Davis, the erstwhile negotiator in the oft aborted efforts to actually bring back the girls.

Where Is The $18 Billion Spent On The War Against Boko Haram In The Last Five Years

I’m simply following the money here. It has been 18 billion USD invested into the so-called war against Boko Haram over the past five years of this Jonathan government. $18 BILLION Dollars! And what did we buy with the money? What did we achieve with it? We have practically lost Borno to Boko Haram. We have lost thousands of lives, limbs and livelihoods.
They say there is only one operational jet bombing Boko Haram; I don’t know how true that is, but with the comfortable way Boko Haram advances as illustrated in all their videos, I doubt we have even one useful jet engaged in this war after 18 billion dollars was pumped into it.
It is no longer news that many of our soldiers have not been paid their salaries; this with the 18 billion dollars the government has spent in this war. So I ask- on what did they spend this money? Where is the 18 billion dollars? Why are we losing Borno to Boko Haram after spending 18 billion dollars? Is the money in Switzerland? #WhereIsOurMoney? Is there any kind of accountability for the war spending?

#ArmyGate: Jonathan please Repossess the $Bn Military Lands Coveted By Ihejirika, Minimah, Al-Mustapha, Others

Thousands of square meters of land set aside for the Asokoro military barracks in Abuja were reported to have been divided among current and past military chiefs, officers and their families while Nigerians were conveniently distracted clamoring for the return of the 234 abducted Chibok girls, according to a detailed, shocking report in DailyTrust of June 4th, 2014.
Beneficiaries included former chief of army staff, COAS Azubuike Ihejirika, several Ihejirikas, his wife, Gift Ihejirika; the current COAS Kenneth Minimah, former Chiefs of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin and Admiral Ibrahim Ola Sa'ad, as well as former Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Mohammed Dikko Umar and retired Major Hamza Al-Mustapha of the Abacha era.
Quote from the DailyTrust:
The Army has shared out to top military brass part of a land that was meant for barracks in the Asokoro District of Abuja, documents leaked to Daily Trust have shown.
Also among the 439 beneficiaries in the land sharing are spouses, relations, friends, associates and companies of senior Army officials.

Boko Haram 1 & Boko Haram 2: In Light Of New Revelations & Wikileaks Documents

In review of the new revelations from President Jonathan’s Boko Haram negotiator, Dr. Stephen Davis of Australia, it will be useful we reconsider what we know of Boko Haram, the northeastern terrorist organization.
There are or were two Boko Harams, I and II.
Boko Haram I: The Yusufiyyah Movement/“Nigerian Taliban”
Boko Haram I is better known as and self identifies as the Yusufiyyah movement. These were the disciples of late Mohammed Yusuf, the charismatic leader who promoted himself as a messiah and was expected to reincarnate after he was killed.
Boko Haram I was the creation of ex-Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. Though Mohammed Yusuf founded his movement since the 90’s, it was Modu Sheriff who armed and utilized these boys as political thugs; the well known Ecomog forces. After he no longer needed them, he discarded the armed youth and Mohammed Yusuf took charge of them.

CONTROVERSIAL ARTICLE ABOUT GOD AND EBOLA(MUST READ)
This article was written by UK Guardian columnist Michelle Hanson it has sparked a huge debate on social media about God and why He saved an American doctor and let 1,200 Africans die of the Ebola virus. The writer, who, according to her, gave up on God many years ago, wondered how God works. Read the article below...
"Lucky Dr Kent Brantly, the American doctor who has recovered from Ebola, having been given a dose of the experimental antibody serum Zmapp, whizzed home to the US, and given another dose. He is now thanking God for saving his life. Through the medical team and drugs, he admits, but ultimately, it seems, God was in charge. And he chose Brantly, not the other 1,200 mainly west African people who have died horribly, which seems a bit picky."

How To Spot A Fake Abuja Big Girl
This is an article writen by Chinenye Ugonna, published on Premium Times, am sure you will enjoy it. Share your view
If you have lived in Abuja for more than a year, you should understand the term “fake Abuja big girl” or FABB.
These are the girls who are usually very attractive, own all the Apple products in this world, live in N1million flats in Maitama, but if you check their background, their parents are struggling in their various villages.
Enough said, let me educate you.
1. Bleached skin and tattoos:
These days, most girls think they have to be “white-skinned” to be beautiful. They go as far as taking injections to perfect their skin. They then get tattoos to complete the look. These girls have to sell their market. When you check their background, their families are as dark-skinned as they come but these girls look more like Black or White era Michael Jackson.
2. Fake accent:
This is another common trait. FABBs roll their tongues like their lives depend on it. Every vowel, irrespective of the word, is followed by an ‘R’: Jos become Jors; Taxi, Tarxi; Abuja, Abujarrr.
3. Long ‘human’ hair:
If they do not have the Brazilian hair that reaches their butt, they haven’t arrived. Picture the combo: bleached skin, fake accent and long Brazilian hair. Most of these girls don’t even have up to N10, 000 in their bank accounts but they have to impress. All na packaging!
4. Own the latest android phones:
This draws me back to a Nigerian movie I watched weeks ago. Funke Akindele’s character sold her bed just so she could buy an Android phone. She preferred to sleep on a bare mattress on the floor than use her regular Nokia phone just so she could impress the guys and catch “proper fish.” This is exactly what FABBS do. They would own the iPhone 5s, S4, iPad. Before the iPhone6 is out, they already have it yet they don’t have regular jobs. So where do they get all that money from?
5. Don’t invite you to their houses:
FABBs never want you to know where they live; it would ruin the illusion of their prosperous lives. Picture this, as a guy, you meet this pretty light skinned lady, who owns all the nicest phone and tablets, maybe drives a car if the hustle is tight; long Brazilian hair and a little cash in their bank account. As a guy, you believe you are toasting or dating a girl who has money. So, why would she invite you to her “face me I face you” to spoil her packaging?
Everybody’s hustle is different but that of the Fake Abuja Big Girl is the realest; take not.

THE BITTER TRUTH: 20 Questions About Boko Haram
1. Which of the PDP presidential candidate hopefuls is implicated as late NSA Andrew Azazi inferred, that after being deprived in the PDP primaries, went on to upgrade Boko Haram to its today level of sophistication? Atiku? IBB? Gusau? Saraki?
2. Was NSA Andrew Owoye Azazi truly killed for exposing the major sponsors of Boko Haram among the PDP presidential primaries contestants?
3. Is Boko Haram really a kill-yourself-to-win strategy of northern elite to occupy the presidential slot? If so, why did the northern elite, when they had the chance give the slot to southern Obasanjo?
4. Why has Boko Haram never crossed the Niger or Benue bridge and only limits its destruction and terror to the north and north residing Nigerians?

PARENTING OUR KIDS TO BECOME RESPONSIBLE LEADERS OF TOMORROW
Traditionally the man is the bread winner of the home, but with the current economic situation, it has become imperative that women leave their traditional role of taking care of the home front to share the in bread winning role of their husbands, most times leaving the care giving role to maids, relatives, television, internet and day care centers.
This trend though very beneficial to the family in terms of the finance, leaves the moral, psychological and educational needs of the children in the hands of people who themselves are busy with their own problems and can not be readily available to help our kids through theirs.

THE MEN AND THE COCK
In June 2012, the Lagos State government through the Attorney general of the State, Ade Ipaye, announced that it was now a criminal offense for a man to abandon a woman he impregnated, there was outrage by men on the internet, the social media was awash with comments from men that
made me question if all these men were guilty of the crime.
Under section 277 of the Lagos State criminal law Any person who impregnates a woman or girl and
fails, refuses or neglects to contribute to maternity related cost from antenatal or postnatal stages is
guilty of the offence.
This is the law that rubbed "well meaning" Nigerian men the wrong way and got them on the social
media passing funny comments like:

HILARIOUS: I DREAMT OF A MILITARY COUP IN NIGERIA (MUST READ)

Perhaps it was the marathon of information on the coup in Thailand that I ingested before I dozed off… or perhaps it was the unseating of an inner desire—Freud says that urges and desires that are repressed to function normally in society are released by the unconscious during dreaming. Either way, here’s what I experienced:
It was business as usual in Nigeria that day; 32 killed in Borno, 2 villages burned with more farmers forced to abandon their land, the Senate was meekly going after Diezani and Diezani was going after the Senate while the masses were still being ripped off of $4 million a day being pocketed by Diezani and her cronies in the old-news kerosene subsidy scam.

OPINION: A Jerry Rawlings solution for Nigeria - By Femi Aribisala
AS the crème de la crème of the Nigerian intelligentsia are currently gathered in Abuja to craft a new roadmap for the country’s political future, there is a very popular option for solving the country’s problem that you can be sure they will not be discussing because many of them are politicians. That option regularly comes up in discussions about how to address the malaise of corruption in Nigeria.
Many Nigerians are convinced that the fail-safe solution to Nigeria’s endemic corruption is "the Jerry Rawlings solution." As Head-of-State of Ghana, Rawlings gathered together six of Ghana’s (mis)leaders and had them shot publicly by firing-squad. Thus, Farida Waziri, former Chairman of the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) said: "If some 20 high-profile offenders are tried and sentenced to death, this will send shock waves to Nigerians and curb both the impunity and intolerable prevalence of corruption in Nigeria."
