While the staff of Infinity Television belonging to preacher, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome were protesting the non-remittance of their Pay As You Earn, PAYE, tax to the suitable institutions on Tuesday, The Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) officials closed down , the Television station for owing the state government several millions.

The executives of the LIRS stormed the grounds of the TV station, closed it down and put a notice on the entrance after locking it with padlock.

The founder of the Christ Embassy Chris Oyakhilome has been removed as a trustee of the UK branch of the church.

This is another twist to the scandalous saga of Chris and Anita Oyakhilome’s divorce, which was initiated by the pastor wife in August 2014.

After Chris’s removal Anita now presides over a seven-man Board of Trustees of the N8.2 billion rich branch, Premium Times reports with reference to the church documents obtained by the journalists.

It is believed that the estranged wife, who accused the famous pastor of “unreasonable behaviour”, has for long headed the UK branch of church while her husband had officially presided over the board of Trustees of the charity.

Christian pastors have become demigods.  Their word is law; no questions asked.  As Jesus said, they teach as doctrines the commandments of men. Pastor Chris declared to his congregation through a live telecast: “There are preachers and there are men of God. I am not a preacher; I am a man of God, and I go in the way I’m asked to go. You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures, you will not find one man of God go against God, sinning against God.”

The wife has reportedly filed for divorce in a London law firm, citing “adultery and unreasonable behaviour” as two of the reasons why she wants out of the union.

Founder of the Believers’ Love World Incorporated, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has urged members of his congregation to pray for his estranged wife, Anita.

Breaking his silence on the allegations of adultery reportedly levelled against him by her, he described them as “frivolous charges.”

Oyakhilome also lamented that the media had been writing all sorts of “stupid things” about him and his marriage.

Noting that Jesus Christ was also accused of different allegations during his lifetime, Oyakhilome asked Nigerians to refrain from unfairly criticising him.

He was quoted by an online news portal, TheCable, as saying this while giving a sermon in his church on Sunday.

Another issue connected to the divorce, which has also been generating tension in the church, is the cry of female ministers who are accusing Pastor Chris of introducing “controversial rules that are now threatening the foundation of many marriages in the church”.

A female church member of one of the Christ Embassy branches in Abuja told the newspaper that “the revolt of Rev Anita will be a child’s play to the one that people will soon see when we open up on how a secret policy introduced sometime early this year has been tearing many families and homes apart in our parishes across the country.

“This is a strange directive that husbands and their wives must not worship or attend the same parish.

“Now, if a couple is a member of a parish, one of them has to be posted to another parish and this is fueling adultery in the church in no small measure. Some of us who are female ministers that have been separated from our husbands, we are already talking. Some have started revolting against the order in their parishes, while some have refused to obey such transfer orders”.

It is true like you heard that Pastor Anita Oyakhilome is seeking to divorce her husband, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the President of Believers’ Love World Inc., popularly known as Christ Embassy, but it is not because of adultery.

The new facts emerged over the weekend that Pastor Anita wants to leave her husband because of behaviours that suggest that she cannot ‘reasonably be expected’ to live with him, the court papers seen by Thisday says.

According to a copy of the  court papers for the divorce process filed at the  Principal Registry of the Family Division (PRFD) of  the High Court of Justice, which Thisday says it has, Pastor Anita applied for “divorce on the ground that the marriage has broken down irretrievably.”

More Trouble For The Oyakhilomes As U.K. Commission Probes Christ Embassy Over Payments

The imminent breakup of their marriage may be the least of the problems popular mega-church pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita, are facing at the moment as the United Kingdom agency is investigating the UK branch of their church, Christ Embassy, over controversial payments.
The United Kingdom Charity Commission has launched a probe into the transfer of at least N941 million (£3.6 million) by the church to overseas entities between 2008 and 2012.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Charity Commission said it has opened a statutory inquiry to investigate Christ Embassy over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.”
According to the Charity Commission, which is the regulator of charities in England and Wales, statutory inquiries are only opened to investigate “the most serious” regulatory breaches.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Denies Adultery Accusations, Threatens To Sue Journalists

 Oyakhilome's counsel further said the media's coverage was engineered to bring him and the church shame and ridicule, though his wife was the person who aired the allegations against him. Earlier today, Wednesday, Mrs. Oyakhilome even told Premium Times, through counsel, that the marriage had "terribly degenerated".

Though not denying the growing divorce scandal surrounding him, the head pastor of Christ Embassy Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has threatened legal recourse against journalists publishing stories about him and his wife, Anita's divorce.

The pastor, who spoke through his lawyer, Mr. Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), called the accusations of adultery a "false and malicious" attack against him and the church.

The dissolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Christian Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase, TheCable can report.

The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”. She outlined several allegations against the pastor which TheCable cannot publish for legal reasons.

The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence.

Authorities of Christ Embassy International have denied reports of break-up between the Senior Pastor of the church, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita.
The church described online media reports that the marriage had crashed as “make-up stories.”

In a post on a Facebook account opened by Anita’s supporters, ‘Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?’ the senior pastor was quoted as saying there was an ongoing domestic issue with Anita.
The recipient of a call made to the official contact line of the church, who identified herself simply as Pastor Mercy, said the report was false.
She said, “It is not true; it is a rumour. All these things are make-up stories.”
