Man Attempts To Assasinate Wife For Not Giving Birth To A Male Child

Mrs. Monica Nwakpuke, a middle-aged woman, barely escaped the cold hands of death when her husband, Paul, allegedly hired assassins to set her ablaze for giving birth to only female children for him.

The culprit, Paul, a patent medicine dealer, who hails from Ebonyi State, was alleged to have hired assassins to kill his wife because she could not give him a male child. The assassins were said to have trailed the woman to her father's house where she was taking refuge over the lingering case of the male child issue, with the purported plan by her husband to eliminating her.

“Three men laid ambush for Monica in the night waiting for her when she came out to use the toilet and when she eventually came out that night, the attackers rushed and grabbed her while one of them slapped her repeatedly on her face before forcing her onto a standby motorcycle and sped off.”

 NO fewer than eight doctors, four nurses and five health workers were, yesterday, feared to have contacted Lassa fever after they participated in operating a pregnant woman at the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, FETHA.
The pregnant woman and her baby (names withheld) who later died few days after they were discharged from the hospital, were suspected to have died of the deadly disease.
At a press conference, the state Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Dr. Chidi Esike, stated that the affected medical personnel had been moved to Specialist Hospital, Irrua, in Edo State for diagnosis and immediate medical attention.

30- Year-Old man Beheads His Father And Eats The Neck In Ebonyi

The Police Command of Ebonyi State paraded a 30-year-old man, for beheading his 56-year-old father and eating the victim’s neck at Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, identified as Nwode Chukwudi Awam hails from from Egwudinagu Obegu village in Ebonyi Local Government Area has allegedly beheaded his biological father, Michael Awam, with a machete.
When the police stormed the scene of crime, the man was waving the machete, which he used to cut off his father’s head, and threatened to kill anybody that gets close to him.

2 APC Registration Officers Kidnapped In Ebonyi State

Two registration officers of the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State were on Saturday kidnapped by unidentified gunmen. The kidnappers are said to have contacted the family and demand N2 million for the victims' release.

The victims are Donatus Omenyi and Moses Anyior, they were involved in membership registration for the APC in Ezza North LGA.
They were kidnapped from their respective homes at about 2 a.m.

One of the victims' wives narrates that over five armed men invaded their home on Saturday and whisked her husband away. She stated that the gunmen were led by the younger brother of the council chairman whom she identified as Okay Ogbu. According to her, they threatened to deal with her husband and demanded ransom, unless he "forget the APC".

Member representing Ezza North/Ishielu federal constituency, Peter Edeh, confirmed the incident and said they are doing everything to secure the release of the victims.

Edeh  condemned the incident and attributed it to the political intolerance in the community. He pleaded with APC supporters to remain calm on the grounds that the party is working hard to rescue the kidnapped officers.

Police spokesman in the state, ASP Chris Anyanwu, said he was aware of the incident but had yet to be officially briefed on the matter.
