Topless FEMEN Activist Grabs Baby Jesus In St Peter’s Square

A Vatican police officer  arrested a topless woman at the famous Peter’s Square on Christmas Day after she grabbed Baby Jesus figurine.

The woman who is an activist from the feminist group FEMEN had the words “God Is Woman”  daubed in large letters on her chest. The police officer was able to  wrest the figurine away from her.

Although the incident occurred well after Pope Francis delivered his Christmas message from the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica, thousands of pilgrims were still in the famous square.

Catholic Priests Fight Over Parish Posting In Mbaise

OWERRI—The schism, which has been trailing the appointment and consecration of the new Bishop of Ahiara Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Peter Okpalaeke, by the Papacy, took a more dangerous dimension weekend, as priests allegedly got entangled in what people described as a dirty battle.

Vanguard investigations revealed that Rev. Fr. Januarius Chima Ahaneku went to St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Nnarambia, at about 7.15p.m., following his posting to the parish by the Vicar General of the embattled Diocese, Rev. Fr. Clement Ebii.

While Fr. Ahaneku was accused of storming the parish with thugs and assaulting the resident priest, Rev. Fr. Marcellinus Nweke, Ahaneku, however, said he was there on legitimate posting.

Nweke confirmed that he had to alert the police and the people when his brother priest allegedly exhibited an act unbecoming of an ordained Catholic priest.

63 year old Kieran Conry, the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, resigned last week after the estranged husband of one of the women with whom he was said to have had a relationship threatened to sue the church.
The man had hired a private detective to follow his wife. The disgraced priest told Sunday Times

I've never felt unhappy, I've enjoyed it and tried to do whatever was asked of me.'I've always gone where I've been sent and I hope to do the same again.'When a priest makes a promise of celibacy, he promises to remain unmarried, that's all. Boko Haram Takes Over 25 Towns - Catholic Bishop

The Catholic Bishop, Bishop Oliver Dashe has cliamed that not less than 25 towns in  three Northeastern Nigerian States of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe were currently under the control of Boko haram, making this claim at a conference for Catholic Bishops in Warri Delta State, he said International assistance was needed to get back to normalcy.. PMNEWS reports

Boko Haram militants are in charge of at least 25 towns and villages in northeast Nigeria, the region’s Roman Catholic bishop has claimed, warning of a deteriorating security situation.

Bishop Oliver Dashe said 10 towns in Yobe state, the same number in Borno and five in Adawama had fallen to the rebels over the last month, as they seek to carve out a hardline Islamic state.

I Could Quit Like Benedict Or Even Die By 2017 - Pope Francis

Pope Francis has suggested that he might one day resign the papacy like his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI did last year, which would make him the second consecutive Pope to do so after almost 600 years.

He said this 2 days ago on August 18th while speaking with reporters on his way back to Rome after his state visit to South Korea.

    "Some theologians may say this is not right, but I think this way. Let us think about what [Benedict XVI] said, "I have gotten old, I do not have the strength", it was a beautiful gesture of nobility, of humility and courage. But you could say to me, if you at some time felt you could not go forward, I would do the same."

Asked about his immense popularity, the  77 year old Pope, joked that he would probably die in the next 2/3 years so should not get too proud:

    “I know this will last a short time, two or three years, and then to the house of the Father.” he said

CATHOLIC CHURCH: Trouble As.Ahiara Diocesan Clergy, Laity Reject Bishop

Over three years after the death of Bishop Victor Chikwe of Catholic Diocese of Ahiara in Mbaise, Imo State, tension has continued to mount over the appointment of a replacement. The development is currently tearing the Catholic Church apart.

Trouble started May 21, 2013, when Fr. Peter Okpaleke, from the Diocese of Awka, Anambra State was consecrated bishop for the Ahiara Diocese, but Clergy and Laity of the diocese rejected the appointment. The two groups opted for an indigenous priest to be made bishop of the diocese.

   

Why Pope Francis Refuses to Use His Bulletproof Popemobile

In a recent interview with a Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, Pope Francis spoke about why he prefers not to use the bulletproof Popemobile, explaining that at his age he doesn't have "much to lose."

The bulletproof Popemobile was introduced after the attempted assassination of John Paul II in 1981, and favored by Francis's predecessor Benedict XVI. Cool Pope, however, does not have time for that. He told La Vanguardia:

Catholic bishop Under Fire For Spending £25million on new palatial home

 

A German Catholic bishop faced pressure to resign on Wednesday after it emerged that his new palatial residence would cost £25m, over six times the original estimate.

Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst, bishop of Limburg, was investigated by a Vatican envoy last month after protests in his diocese against lavish spending.

His luxurious choice of home is at odds with Pope Francis's shift of the Church's focus towards simplicity and poverty.

The soaring cost of the stately residence next to Limburg's hilltop cathedral was made public by the diocese on Monday and was immediately criticised by churchgoers and officials.

Oops! Pope Francis accidentally says "'f**k" during Sunday blessing

While giving his weekly blessing from the Vatican, the Argentinian mistakenly uttered the word 'f***' in Italian before quickly correcting himself.
But within seconds his mistake was posted on dozens of Italian media websites and YouTube and had gained millions of worldwide hits as it went viral.
The words the Pope stumbled on were 'caso' (example) and 'cazzo' which means 'f***' in Italian and often trips up those not used to speaking the language
In his sermon, the 77-year-old Pope had been urging for a peaceful solution to the crisis in the Ukraine.

Taking Selfies With Dead bodies: Student In Trouble For Posting Selfie With Dead Body On Instagram

A senior at Clements High School in Limestone County, Ala., faces disciplinary measures after she snapped a selfie with a dead body and posted it to Instagram.
The female student, whose name has been withheld, took a picture of herself smiling next to a cadaver intended for medical use during a senior anatomy class field trip to the University of Alabama at Birmingham's biology department.
The student removed the photo from her Instagram feed, but a classmate took a screen shot of it and showed her sister, who contacted the school, according to WHNT.


The UAB biology department told the station that "sheets were not supposed to be removed from donated bodies and that under no circumstance were students or any other visitors supposed to have cell phones or recording devices on hand during the tour."

A nine-year-old boy walked backwards up a wall as startled medical staff looked on after his mother claimed he and his two siblings had been possessed by demons, according to official reports.
The unlikely-sounding event was detailed in official documents after a child services case worker and a nurse both said they saw the boy 'glide' backwards on the floor, wall and ceiling.

Both were shocked to see the boy apparently float after their mother had been subject to months of scepticism when she claimed her home in Gary, Indiana, was haunted and all three of her children were possessed by demons.
