Gunmen Kill German, Abduct Another In Sagamu





On Friday morning,  October 24th, Unknown gunmen killed a German national and abducted another  in Sagamu, Ogun state. The two men, who worked for Julius Berger, were traveling in two separate vehicles without their security escorts when the gunmen attacked and fired shots into their vehicles.

Thunder Kills Three Teenagers In Ogun








Three teenagers, Sunday Mulero,13, Dare Olaifa,15 and Sodiq Segun, 15 died yesterday, Sunday when thunder struck as they were playing outside their house, during a heavy down pour.

The incident which happened at Ijale Ijaka Street in Ijoun, Ayetoro area in Yewa South local government area of Ogun state  occurred during a heavy rainfall killed the 3 teenagers instantly.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident.

Adejobi in a statement said , the information made available to the Police Public Relations Officer of the command by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ayetoro Division revealed that the young boys were “playing “outside their house when the thunder struck and killed them instantly.

Missing Couple Found In Ogun DSS Detention






Abdul Ganiyu Jumah and his wife, Muinat, have been missing for 65 days, after they were reportedly kidnapped by suspected gunmen, Muinat, who was pregnant has reportedly released,to enable her deliver her baby in comfort awhile the husband is still in detention. Vanguard reports

SXTY-FIVE days after an Islamic cleric, Abdul Ganiyu Jumah and his wife, Muinat, were reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen at their residence, they were found at the detention facility of the Department of State Services, DSS in Ogun State.

The couple, who were residing at 27, Fagbemi Street, Ijoko, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state, were declared missing after unknown gunmen stormed their residence and reportedly whisked the man and his pregnant wife away at 3:am.

Man Arraigned In Court For Posting Negative Remarks About Ogun State Governor On Facebook



A 31 year old man named Wasiu Ogunnoiki was arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Sagamu yesterday September 2nd for allegedly posting negative remarks about the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun on his Facebook wall.

Ogunnoiki is alleged to have posted a message on Facebook saying that the state Governor had demolished the houses of some citizens without compensating them accordingly, a statement the government say they find unacceptable, and could incite the citizens against the governor.

PHOTO: Hawker Rescued From Kidnappers’ Den In Ogun






 Fate smiled on an unidentified young boy hawking on Alhaji Jamiu Sulaimon Street in Itele, Ota area of Ogun State on Tuesday evening as he was rescued from kidnappers in the area, just as he was about to be killed.
No 3, Alhaji Jamiu Sulaimon, where the boy was rescued is unarguably one of the most beautiful houses on the street but no one could have imagined the horror discovered behind its high walls.
When our correspondent visited the scene on Wednesday morning, a police patrol vehicle was stationed in front of the compound to ward off curious residents and looters.

My Boyfriend Made Me Dump Prostitution For Armed Robbery - Female Gang Member





From prostitution to armed robbery on the advice of her boyfriend, now the boyfriend is dead and she is jail bound if tried and convicted. The choices that some make are hard to understand indeed.

A 24-year- old female member of a gang of armed robbers, Sherifat Bakare,  could describe at first glance as pretty. But as she sat on the ground in front of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Ogun State Police Command in Abeokuta, one cannot but imagine how deadly she might have been on operations with her robbery gang.

“I was hustling before Raji, my boyfriend, told me to join his gang,” Bakare began. But When she was asked to elaborate on what she did as a “hustler,” she explained that she meant prostitution.

FIVE ARRESTED WITH HUMAN PARTS IN OGUN STATE

Five suspects have been arrested in a joint operation on Saturday by the Special Anti Robbery Squad Lagos Command and the Ogun State Police Command with human parts.
The suspects, which included a woman, were said to have been apprehended in Joju, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
A statement by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the arrest was made possible following a tip-off from members of the community.
It read, “The Divisional Police Officer Otta, CSP Gabriel Idibie, led a team of operatives to assist SARS operatives from Lagos who had received first-hand information on the case to the Joju area.

Another Ritualists’ Den Discovered, ‘Lunatic’ Arrested In Ogun State





ABEOKUTA— The Ogun State Police Command said, yesterday, that it had discovered a ritualists’ den in Iyana Egbado village in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.

The police also said it had arrested a man identified simply as Gbenga, who was about to be lynched by angry mob for being in possession of several human parts.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, said some human parts, including decayed intestines, were found with him before he was whisked away.

Vanguard, gathered that the suspected ritualist, who is a member of a syndicate operating in the area, had attempted to kill a woman before she was rescued by a passer-by.

This Newborn Baby Was Found In A Septic Pit In Ogun State





Residents of  Surulere community, in Abeokuta area of Ogun state woke up to the cry of a newborn baby who was dumped in a septic outlet.
The baby who still had the placenta uncut was discovered by members of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church who heard the non-stop cry of the baby during their night vigil thereby raising a rescue team who in turn searched for the baby.
The councillor representing the area, Ayoola Kabir said that he was contacted at about 6.45 pm, and made arrangements to get the baby to the hospital.
“First, the idea of contacting the Police came, but, I considered saving the life of the innocent baby first.

Police discover baby-making factory in Ogun





The Ogun State Police Command, on Friday, paraded 10 suspects in connection with a baby making factory located at Sebanjo Crescent, Fagbunle Bus Stop at Akute area of the state.

Eight of the suspects were pregnant young women, whose ages range from 16 to 21.


NE learnt that the factory was being run by the prime suspect, Angela Chidozie, who also lived in the four-bedroom bungalow with her husband and children. Her husband was said to be currently on the run.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okota, said the arrest was made possible following information from the community.

He said, “I have stressed the importance of community policing. We got information yesterday that Chidozie was keeping pregnant juveniles in her house.

“After the mothers give birth, Chidozie would sell the babies for N3m or more while the mother of each child would be given a pittance. When we got to Chidozie’s house yesterday, there was no one in sight. We left and when we later returned, we discovered that five of the girls were hiding in one room.

Obsanjo Warns Nigerians Not To Leave Politics To Evil Men




Former president Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State enjoined Christians to participate actively in politics.
The former president warned Christians against being indifferent towards politics, saying this could result in the country falling into the hands of evil men who he said could not offer Nigeria any good.
Obasanjo said this during the fifth anniversary thanksgiving service of the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King, a religious arm of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

Fake Journalist, 47, in Police Net for Defiling 10-Year-Old Girl!




The Ogun State Police Command has arrested fake journalist, Tosin Awotedo, for raping a  10 years old girl in Igbeba Ijebu Ode.
The minor who hawks Fufu was said to have been raped severally by the  47 years old Awotedo, in his Igbeba apartment  more than four times before he was finally arrested by the police.
It was learnt that the victim’s mother, who was alerted by her neighbours of the recurrent misdeeds of the suspect, reported it to the police

TRAGEDY: Man Flogs Orphan To Death Over Christmas Rice

 
The Ogun State Police Command said, yesterday, that it had arrested a man, Kayode Olubunmi,37, for allegedly killing his cousin,Haruna Adeoye,20, over a bowl of Christmas rice.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed this in a statement sent to newsmen in Abeokuta. Adejobi explained that the tragic incident occurred on the Christmas day at Ajegunle, Ita-Oluwo, Ogijo in Sagamu local government area of Ogun State at 10:30pm. According to the Police, the suspect killed, Adeoye, an orphan for eating a bowl of rice given to them by a friend on Christmas day. “
