Kebbi State House Of Assembly Impeaches Speaker At Night



The Speaker of Kebbi House of Assembly, Hon. Habib Musa Jega has been impeached. And Hon. Mohammed Shalla Gwandu has been sworn-in by the clerk of the House, Shehu Usman Randali, as the new Speaker.

The impeachment, which took place around 10:25pm at the House of Assembly in Birnin Kebbi was signed by 16 members out of 24 members of the House.

The impeachment is coming barely two days after news came out that 17 members of House are planning to dump the PDP and join the APC.



63 Out Of 109 Senators From Both Parties Sign To Impeach President Jonathan?




.SIXTY-three senators as of Thursday have signed up to the plan to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber, The PUNCH learnt in Abuja.

One of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed our correspondent the list containing the signatures of the senators. The source said eight Peoples Democratic Party senators were among the signatories to the planned impeachment notice.

There are 109 members in the Senate.

Al-Makura Impeachment: Nasarawa Lawmakers Want Investigative Panel Dissolved






The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has called for the dissolution of the investigative panel set up to look into the allegations against the State Governor, Tanko Al-Makura.

The panel, headed by Mr Yusuf Usman, was set up by the Nasarawa State Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Dikko, to investigate the 16-count impeachment charges levelled against the Governor by the lawmakers.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Mr Mohammed Ibaku, said that the panel lacks the credibility to carry out their duty.


Why We Have Not Impeached President Jonathan ––Senator





The senator representing Edo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Domingo Obende, has said the senate jettisoned impeachment moves against President Goodluck Jonathan in the interest of stability.

Domingo, who spoke to newsmen at his country home, Igarra in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, decried the use of power by the PDP-controlled Federal Government to intimidate the opposition.

The senator said that the red chamber decided to stop plans to impeach the President, who had “committed an impeachable offence,” in order to avoid national crisis.

POST IMPEACHMENT: Read Ex-Governor Murtala Nyako’s Response To The EFCC…





The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has declared the impeached governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako wanted.
This decision followed a three hours questioning session held with the former deputy governor of the state, Bala Ngilari, who served with Nyako.

The leadership of the commission decided to declare Nyako wanted after he failed to honour the commission’s invitations after his removal from office.
It was further gathered that Nyako has evaded arrest as operatives detailed to arrest him after his removal from office by the House of Assembly has not sighted him since then.

Impeachment Of Nasarawa Governor Turns Bloody; 3 Men Killed








Three people have died while one person was seriously wounded during clashes between Gwandara and Eggon youths who were protesting over the commencement of impeachment proceedings against Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Thursday.

Leadership gathered that some armed Gwandara youths stormed the house of an Eggon man around Old Alamis Market and set it ablaze along with his car. Many governorship posters of information minister Labaran Maku were said to have been pasted on the walls of the house.

Adamawa Governor Nyako Impeached, Deputy Resigns






After weeks of impeachment threats Adamawa state governor, Murtala Nyako, has been unseated by the Adamawa State House of Assembly, while his deputy, James Ngilari voluntarily resigned before the house could impeach him along with Nyako.


Insiders whisper that Nyako an APC card carrying member might be heading to court to challenge the impeachment, and his lawyers are on standby to begin proceedings.

IMPEACHMENT UPDATE : 13 MEMBERS WITHDRAW THEIR SIGNATURE




Atiku Abubakar and other APC leaders are seriously working in Adamawa State to stop the impeachment of the governor of the state, Murtala Nyako and from what a source told OluFamous.Com, their effort is making very serious impacts on the lawmakers and the matter may be dropped any time soon.

Already, 13 out of the 19 lawmakers that signed the impeachment notice have withdrawn their signature and this simply means the impeachment can't fly with only 6 lawmakers. Lets wait and see what happens next.

IMPEACHMENT: Atiku, Wamakko, Kwankwaso Make Moves To Save Nyako’s Job





Governor Murtala Nyako really needs all the help he can get to hold on to his seat as Governor.
The embattled governor of  Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako as such has gone to seek the help of his party members, former  Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State and Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State over his impending impeachment.
Nyako met with Atiku and Ribadu yesterday in Abuja.
The governor and his deputy, Bala Ngilari, were served with impeachment notices by the Adamawa state House of Assembly on Wednesday.

See The Reasons Adamawa House Of Reps Wants To Impeach Governor Nyako




According to reports by The Cable the PDP members of Adamawa State house of assembly have levelled 26 allegations of “gross misconduct” on the governor of the state, Murtala Nyako and his deputy Bala Ngilari. If they succeed in impeaching Nyako and his Deputy, the PDP automatically takes over the state as the Speaker will emerge Governor.

The speaker of the assembly, Ahmadu Fintiri, had on Wednesday directed the Clerk of the house to serve the governor and his deputy with impeachment notice. Twenty allegations were levelled against Nyako and six against Ngilari. Some of the allegations against Nyako included diversion of N2.3 billion workers’ salary for September and October 2011, and illegal deductions and diversion of N142million emoluments of workers in May 2014.



Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako Served With Impeachment Notice.








The State House of Assembly on Wednesday June 18th directed its clerk to serve the governor and his deputy an impeachment notice.

Vanguard reports that the Adamawa House of Assembly has served the governor of the state, Murtala Nyako and his deputy Bala Ngilari with an impeachment notice.
 The notice which was signed by 19 of the 25 members of the Assembly, was served on grounds of  “gross misconduct,”
