How Journalists Were Abducted By Tompolo's Boys (DETAILS)

The accepted rule of engagement between journalists in the Warri flank of Niger-Delta and ex-militants in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, was shattered, Sunday, when the violent youths abducted 14 journalists and six other persons, including Itsekiri youth leaders.
The journalists, among them, this reporter, Sola Adebayo, Regional Editor, Leadership, Shola O’Neil, Regional Editor, Niger-Delta, The Nation and Olu Philips, Energy Reporter, Channels Television, were ambushed on the waterways at 1.p.m. while returning from a press conference, addressed by the Itsekiri community of Ugborodo, moments after they left Ogidigben. Other newshounds were Publisher of Warri-based Fresh Angle Newspaper, Anthony Ebule, Bolaji Ogundele, Reporter, The Nation, Warri, Emma Arubi, Senior Correspondent, Daily Independent Newspaper, Warri, and Awoso Harry, Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri, Paulinus Odedey, Camera man, Channels, Omoniyi Alex and Osaro Sado, AIT.

N20m Scandal Hits Warri Carnival
WARRI—Trouble looms in Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, as the chief promoter of Warri Carnival Enterprises and initiator of the carnival, Sunny Nikoro, has petitioned Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to ask chairman of the commission, Mr. Oritsuwa Kpogho, to account for the N20 million allegedly disbursed to yet-to-be-identified individuals for the hosting.
Nikoro said his outfit applied for sponsorship of the first ever Warri Carnival through DESOPADEC vide a letter dated September 2, 2013.
The petition, which was accompanied with relevant correspondences, added that the application was considered and the N20 million duly approved by Delta State House of Assembly in the 2013/2014 budget.

Son Impregnates His Own Mother With Love Portion
A 19-year-old boy identified as Abel who was recently promoted to SS3 in one of the secondary schools in Asaba, capital of Delta State, has allegedly put his own mother in the family way after he had carnal knowledge of her few months ago.
The boy, popularly called Ekenem, was said to have consulted a native doctor, who prepared a love charm for him to use on his mother and one of the matrons in the college where he is a boarding student.
Sources say the act committed by the boy still remains a misery to people in the area.

Day-Old Baby Becomes Youngest Monarch In History, Crowned King Of Igbodo Kingdom
A day-old baby boy was crowned yesterday in Igbodo Kingdom of Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The child, named Ugochukwu, was crowned by the leader of a delegation from the Igbodo palace at St. Luke’s Hospital Asaba, where he boy was delivered.
This day became a historical event for Igbodo Kingdom and entered the Guinness Book of Records by becoming the community with the youngest monarch.

Student Shot Dead By Lecturer For Hugging His Girlfriend
A senior lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, College of Education, Agbor, who shot a male student of the institution for giving his girlfriend a hug has been apprehended by men of the Nigeria Police in Agbor, Delta State.
The lecturer escaped from the scene after he shot the student at close range for "hugging his girlfriend" during a party in a bar at Alihami Community.
Sources at the bar said the lecturer was infuriated when the student walked into the party and hugged the lady who is also a female student of the same department and before he could sit down, the lecturer ran into his car, brought out a gun, shot the student and released a volley of gun shots into the air before escaping from the bar...

The Obi of Iselle-Ukwu town of Delta State,HRH Henry Ezeagwunam, and Sunny Ofili,the Special Adviser on information and Communications Technology to Delta State Governor,Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan are both dead.
The accident occurred at Otulu Junction on the ever busy Asaba-Benin Expressway.The vehicle burst into fire on impact, with both men burnt beyond recognition before help could come.
Ezeagwunam was driving while Ofili was seated in front.

Lecturer’s wife arrested for stabbing her husband’s lover in Delta
A woman in Delta has been arrested after reports that she attacked her husband’s lover with a broken bottle.
Maureen Muka, whose husband is said to have a penchant for sleeping with young girls, allegedly attacked the 23 year-old, identified as Philomena.
Mrs. Muka was called by an informant who told her that her husband had been sighted at the hotel with the young girl.

Delta State Bursary Fraud Whistleblower Arrested And Handed Over To Delta State Government Officials

An
ex-student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Mr. Ambrose Ezeanwani,
who exposed a racket in the students’ bursary scheme in Delta state was
handed over to men from the Delta State Government this afternoon after
days of illegal detention in Lagos.
Police officers
in Sabo Station handed him over after the Delta State officials
visited to ask for his transfer to Asaba, Delta State where he will be
most likely tortured and “tried” for revealing the fraud perpetrated by
officials of the state.
Ezeanwani was
President of the National Association of Delta State Students Union at
the University of Lagos. During his tenure, he revealed that the bursary
system was fraught with fraud, which he said was being perpetrated by
men in the scholarship board in Delta State.

HOW HOMOSEXUAL HOMES WERE DISCOVERED IN WARRI--GOV. UDUAGHAN
The Delta State Government has said it has discovered a homosexual centre used by young men between the ages of 16, 17 and 18 years for gay activities in Warri, the commercial nerve of the state. This was disclosed by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan yesterday while delivering his Easter Message to Deltans at the First Baptist Church, Warri. The governor said:
“These youths who engage in criminal activities are our children. Right here in Delta State, at Enerhen Junction we just discovered that we have children between 15, 16, 17 and 18 years old who rent rooms around Enerhen Junction and at night men come out to look for them. These are boys and men come to sleep with them in their rooms. These boys called themselves ‘Yansh’.

ONLY 980 OUT OF 126,000 APPLICANTS TO GET JOBS INTO DELTA STATE CIVIL SERVICE

Dr Emmanuel Tesola, chairman of the Delta State Civil Service, on a courtesy visit to Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, mr. Emmanuel Onwusanya, has revealed that of the 126,000 people that applied for jobs into the Delta State Civil Service only 980 would be employed.
sating that the State only has opening for 980 people at the moment.
126,000 people had applied for jobs into the Delta State Civil Service, at a recruitment exercise which ended on the 7th of February.

DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PARADES SUSPECTED E.K. CLARK SON'S KIDNAPPERS (PHOTOS)

Delta State Police yesterday paraded the suspected kidnappers of Chief E. K. Clark’s son, Mr. Ebikeme Clark was kidnapped last week and was later released. The suspects also confessed they kidnapped one Madam Rose in Warri, but who was released after her family paid the sum of N1.8m as ransom.
