THREE KILLED AS GUNMEN ATTACK MOSQUE AT GOV. KWANKWASO'S FAMILY HOUSE


Gunmen, Tuesday, opened fire at worshippers inside a mosque located at the family home of the Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, killing three persons and injuring three others including children.
The spokesperson of the Kano Command of Nigerian Police Force, Magaji Majiya, who confirmed the incident to PREMIUM TIMES over the telephone, Wednesday, said the attack took place at the mosque in Kwankwaso Town of Madobi Local Government Area.

APC Crisis Deepens As Shekarau, Others Disown Kwankaso As Kano Leader



Some leaders of the defunct ANPP, including a former presidential candidate, Bashir Tofa, and ex-senator Kabiru Gaya, last week visited Mr. Kwankwaso during which they pledged their support to the governor as the leader of APC in the state.A section of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, led by a former governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, has dissociated itself from the recent endorsement of the State governor, Musa Kwankwaso, as the leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the state.

Mr. Kwankwaso defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to APC alongside four other governors last year.

Stop Unguarded Utterances, Kwankaso Urges Politicians

Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State on Friday advised politicians to guard against utterances capable of overheating the polity. He gave the advice when a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by Sen. Kabiru Gaya paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Kano. The governor urged politicians to shun the politics of do- or-die and the use of public office for self-aggrandizement. He also urged political office holders to use their positions to positively change the lives of the people. In his remark, the leader of the delegation, Sen. Gaya called on the people in the state to support the governor to move the state forward. He commended Kwankwaso for his efforts at transforming the state. Also in the delegation were a former presidential candidate, Alhaji Bashir Tofa, former ANPP Secretary, Alhaji Ado Kabir, a former gubernatorial aspirant, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, and Alhaji Barau Jibrin, a former member of the House of Representatives, among others.
