MAN IN ONDO HANGS HIMSELF AFTER TESTING POSITIVE TO HIV






A 45-year-old man identified as Abayomi Olarenwaju, allegedly hanged himself after he tested positive to HIV in Ondo state.
According to reports, Olarenwaju was devastated and reportedly carried out the act using a vehicle fan belt in a bush near Akure South Local Government Secretariat in the early hours of yesterday.
It was revealed that the deceased who terminated his life without leaving a note, had just been confirmed positive of the deadly virus.

Man Dies While On Prayer Mountain In Ondo



A middle aged man slumped and died while praying on a mountain along Idanre road in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to the Police First Information Report (FIR), the deceased was found dead last Sunday; while a bible, slippers, pieces of bread and tooth-brush were carefully arranged in a bucket placed beside his lifeless body.
A police source told PREMIUM TIMES that the deceased, whose identity is yet to be determined, is believed to have been on the mountain, performing prayers, for some days before his demise.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Wole Ogodo, said at the time information got to the police on the incident, the victim was already dead.

Burglars Break Into University ATMs In Ondo




The ATMs of several banks at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungbo-Akoko (AAUA)campus in Ondo state.were broken  into by burglars in the early hours of Thursday.
According to a report by Sahara Reporters

According to sources, five armed burglars gained entrance to the University through the southern gate. They captured four University's Sheriff Deputies, tied them up with ropes and covered their faces.
Using an electrical iron-rod cutter they broke into the Automated Teller Machines of Access Bank and Enterprise Bank, located near the Olusegun Obasanjo Hall.

Mob In Ondo State Sets Driver, Vehicle Ablaze After Fatal Collision With Motorbike

An angry mob in Omi town, Ondo State set a driver and his bus ablaze on New Year’s Eve after a fatal accident involving the bus and a motorbike along the Irele-Omi Road.
The motorbike rider and two of his passengers died in the accident which also injured several other passengers.
Some eyewitnesses and survivors said the motorbike rider attempted to pass a vehicle, but found the passageway too narrow, leading to a crash that killed him and two others on the spot. One witness said the rider was pinned to the spot while his two passengers were thrown into a nearby bush.
Angered by the accident, a mob of irate residents of Omi town, home of the victims, set upon the bus driver and beat him to death before setting him ablaze inside his bus.
