Another Ebola Patient Walk Into NNPC Clinic In Lagos (PHOTOS)

In a statement issued on Friday, by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, he stated that the a suspected Ebola virus victim was on admission at the clinic.

He said, “The management of the NNPC has announced the indefinite shutdown of its clinic in the Muri Okunola area of Victoria Island, Lagos, following a suspected case of Ebola virus victim on admission at the clinic.

“It was discovered that the patient visited the First Consultant Medical Centre during the period the first Ebola case was reported at that clinic”.

A credible source at the Nigerian Senate has revealed that members of the Senate Committee on Finance led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi have been offered unspecified amounts of bribe by agents of Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, and officials of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), to endorse the committee’s interim report on billions of dollars in crude oil sales that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, claimed were never accounted for.

Last week, the 11-member committee prematurely released an interim account that sought to absolve Ms. Alison-Madueke and NNPC officials, who report to her, of blame in the alleged missing funds. The report dismissed Mr. Sanusi’s assertion that the NNPC had failed to remit between $20 billion and $50 billion of Nigeria’s crude oil earnings with the country’s apex bank.

SENATE COMMITTEE DID NOT ABSOLVE DIEZANI OR NNPC - SEN. BUKOLA SARAKI

 There is a calculated attempt by agents of the Presidency to sell a lie to Nigerians that Sanusi Lamido was not in any way saying the truth about missing Oil money and that Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke and her men at the NNPC have been cleared of the allegations.

Here is a clarification: 

The recent media reports claiming that the Senate Committee on Finance has cleared the NNPC of any unaccounted revenue fund is not true. Though I could not attend the last meeting of the committee, I have been very active in the investigation. Nothing significant has changed to suggest clearing anybody. I can say on behalf of the Committee that these media reports bear no correlation to the content of the Senate Committee report and I would urge the public to disregard it in its entirety.

Presidency Will Not Probe DIEZANI...... Doyin Okupe Says!

 The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe said on Friday, that the Federal Government would not set up a probe panel to investigate the minister because the House of Representatives was currently probing her.

Alison-Madueke was alleged to have spent N10bn on a chartered Challenger 850 aircraft in two years for which the House of Representatives is currently probing her.
Okupe said that the Federal Government could not institute a probe panel on matters that had not been substantiated.

FG may remove petrol, kerosene subsidies

The Federal Government may have concluded plans to stop subsidising the consumption of petroleum products in the country, especially petrol and kerosene following increasingly dwindling revenue.

The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, gave the clearest hint yet of the planned removal of subsidies on both products by the Federal Government on Tuesday at the ongoing Nigerian Oil and Gas Conference in Abuja.

President Goodluck Jonathan has authorized a forensic audit of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The Presidency said on Wednesday that "reputable international firms" would carry out the audit, but the companies' names were not disclosed.
The decision has followed the calls by the Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and a Senate committee investigating the graft allegations to conduct a forensic audit of NNPC after the Central Bank ex-governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi presented evidence that he said showed the company failed to remit $20bn of oil revenue to federal government coffers.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, says insurgency in the North East Zone is responsible for the slow performance in oil exploration in Chad Basin in 2013.
The insurgency by the outlawed Boko Haram sect has led to the death of thousands of people since 2009 in North East Nigeria.
Mr. Yakubu stated his position in Abuja on Wednesday during the budget defence by the NNPC before the Emmanuel Paulker -led Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream).
He, however, said that besides the Chad Basin, there were seven other basins that the NNPC was working to explore oil.

REVEALED: WHY FUEL IS SCARCE

Investigations by NE revealed that Contrary to claims by the National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that the fuel scarcity was caused by hoarding, the problem is a result of late release of import allocation to oil marketers, gap in importation and short-supply of petroleum products to filling stations.


It was gathered that the first quarter (Q1) import allocation released in February by the Petroleum Product Regulatory Pricing Agency (PPPRA) did not only come late, but made it difficult for major oil marketers to import products.

An independent marketer, who pleaded for anonymity, said the inability of government to place order for the first quarter allocation early has resulted in the shortage of the petroleum products.

President Jonathan Orders The Removal Of Sanusi's Security Detail

Senators Oppose N700million On A Daily Bases For Kerosene Subsidy

Senators were outraged yesterday, following the alleged illegal deduction of N700 million daily as kerosene subsidy by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)
This was after a motion by Senator Babajide Omoworare (Osun East), titled: Urgent Need to Stop N700 million a day Illegal Kerosene Subsidy, was adopted.

BREAKING NEWS: SANUSI LAMIDO'S PASSPORT SEIZED BY SSS

Shortly after ex CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi's,  plane landed at the ExecuJet Terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, he was accosted by plain clothe operatives who detained him briefly and insisted he must surrender his passport.

NNPC Has No Right To Retain $10.8billion Oil Revenue - Sanusi

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Friday insisted that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had no right retaining $10.8 billion oil revenue, saying it contributed to the drop in savings “that left the nation exposed to possible price shocks.”

In a related development, former Vice President of the World Bank, Oby Ezekwesili, yesterday said she was among Nigerians dissatisfied with the explanations offered by the NNPC for the $10.8 billion and took to her tweeter handle on Wednesday to challenge the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to sign off  on NNPC's explanation.

NNPC: $10.8bn Not Missing, Part of Unpaid Operational Costs

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said the disputed $10.8 billion, which has not been paid into the Federation Account, is not missing but formed part of its operational costs within the period January 2012 to July 2013 referred to by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, in his letter to President Goodluck Jonathan on unremitted oil revenues.

It explained that repairs on Nigeria’s 5,000 kilometres of petroleum pipeline network which is constantly subjected to vandalism, unpaid subsidies on kerosene and petrol, as well as its maintenance of national strategic reserves for petroleum products, were all parts of its operational costs accounted for by the $10.8 billion

The corporation said in a statement yesterday in Abuja that issues surrounding the allegation of the unremitted $49.8 billion against it had since been explained but it appears that the initial dust raised by Sanusi’s letter was yet to settle.

In the statement issued by its General Manager, Media Relations, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, NNPC said it had to make further clarifications considering the extant media reports on the same issue, which it said were misleading.

FG Denies Plans To Increase Pump Price Of Petrol

The Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources said on Thursday the government does not plan to increase the pump price of petrol, which is currently N97 per liter.
In a press statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Danladi Kifasi, the Ministry described such fears were unfounded.
