PHOTOS: General Buhari At Lagos State 2015 Church Thanksgiving Service




The presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, APC national chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, Rivers State governor Mr. Rotimi Amaechi and the party’s vice presidential candidate, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, were amongst eminent dignitaries that stormed Lagos State yesterday for the 2015 annual thanksgiving service.

The service was presided over the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye and other exalted clergy.

Okadaman Beats Pregnant Woman To Coma In Lagos





A commercial motorcycle operator has beaten a seven- month pregnant woman to coma along the Lagos-Badagry expressway, near Oluti bus stop in Lagos.

Trouble started after the woman was said to have paid the unknown rider a stipulated amount of money to convey her from Iyana Iba to First Gate bus stop, Maza Maza.

Jimi Agbaje Wins PDP Lagos Governorship Ticket




Jimi Agbaje, pharmacist and businessman has beaten Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, to emerge the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos state,

He will face Akinwunmi Ambode, candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election next year February.

Agbaje won 434 votes to Obanikoro’s 346 votes.

"Be Prepared To Pay Our Dues" - Armed Robbers Write Lagos Residents (Photo)






Residents of Onimaba, College Bus stop, Ikotun Road, Igando, Lagos have been living in fear since last week Thursday when a letter purportedly written by armed robbers circulated their streets.

The letters, numbering about 20 was typed on an A4 paper and scattered on the streets, was noticed by residents as they woke up on Thursday morning.
The letter reads,

     “Be prepared, be prepared, be prepared. Our dues must be paid this festive season. Nobody can stop us as we can strike at any time. Only enough money can save your life.To be forewarned is to be fore-harmed. We have warned you in this area, and if you have ears, you ought to hear."

This is the scene of an accident that happened at Palm grove /  Obanikoro Bus stop in Lagos, yesterday, Sunday, according to the eye witness, Zubby, who sent me the photos no lives were lost.
It is amazing how this could have happened, The car, a Honda Accord is completely crushed by the trailer.

Many Feared Killed As Angry Prisoners Break Jail In Lagos





Some prisoners who could no longer bear the harsh condition at the Kirikiri medium prison attempted to break themselves out of the facility on Friday. A yet to be ascertained number of prisoners were believed to have died as soldiers and prison officials engaged the fleeing prisoners in Lagos.

Scores of other prisoners were also said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries from the incident that occurred at the Prison located in the Apapa area of Lagos around 3.30 pm on Friday.

    A senior official of the NPS said the incident occurred after the inmates protested some privileges denied by a senior official who had just been posted to the prison, one of which was the use of cell phones by the inmates.

Two Die , 14 Rescued In Lagos Boat Mishap





Two persons, a man identified as Mr Idowu Lawal and a female identified as Fatima have been confirmed dead while 14 others were rescued after a boat capsized in the Igando area of Lagos state around 8pm on Wednesday October 1st.

According to Vanguard, the boat took off from Akesan and was heading to Imoshe in Ogun state, when it capsized almost immediately. Witnesses said the boat couldn't withstand the tides of the river.

Unfortunately none of passengers wore a life jacket. After the boat capsized, some passengers who could swim swam to the shore of the river while local fishermen present at the time of the incident were able to rescue some others. Unfortunately two people were unable to survive it.

Lagos Employs 80 Female LAGBUS Drivers





Lagos State Government continues to empower women as promised, the government through the Lagos Bus Asset Management Company, LAGBUS, the company made known to the public yesterday that it had  employed additional 80 women as mass transit drivers,  as part of its effort to empower women in the state.

This came as it commenced training of 998 drivers of LAGBUS on accident prevention skills.

Lagos State Government Has Techincally Taken Over Synagogue - LASBCA




General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, Mrs. Abimbola Animashaun-Odunayo, in this interview, speaks on the recent collapsed building belonging to the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, the intricacies surrounding it, the next line of action by the state government, among others. Excerpts:

What actually went wrong with the SCOAN collapsed building?
We need support from stakeholders and everyone. Before now, we have been trying to curtail incidence of collapse building until we had the latest one. I think the problem of Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, brought the issue to the fore again. A lot of institutions are too secretive they will not allow government officials do their job properly. They believed that if you are not a member, you cannot have access to their premises.

This Guy R*ped A Girl And Leaked Her N*de Pix In Lagos










30-year old Olaniyan Oluwakayode has been arrested for allegedly r*ping a 20-year old girl in Lagos and also uploading her unclad photos on the internet to further rubbished her. Olaniyan, who hails from Osun State, was said to have molested the girl in his apartment at the Ifako area of Lagos.

He was arrested by police and brought to the Lagos Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA, in handcuffs. The girl (name withheld) from Akwa Ibom State, alleged that after being r*ped, Oluwakayode snapped her pictures despite pleas from his sister, saying he was never her boyfriend as he claimed.

    “He stops me anytime I am going to work. He approached me and I told him I was not ready to give him a reply. I did not go to his house. On my way back from work on Tuesday last week, I saw someone running out of his house, because there is a bush around their compound so he jumped from the fence down and held my hand and said he wants to do what’s on his mind.

Lagos Government Moves Against TB Joshua's Synagogue








According to a Punch report, the Lagos State Government has moved against the popular Synagogue Church of All Nations, Ikotun, whose building collapsed last week, under very strange circumstances.

It appears Lagos State government is not ready to look at the strange aircraft angle of the saga, their focus is the fact that the building was started as a two-storey building before more floors were added.

Consequently, the Lagos State Building Control Agency has, therefore, marked the main building of the church, asking for relevant documents to prove its structural integrity.

    The General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency, Mrs. Abimbola Animashaun-Odunayo, who confirmed that TB Joshua's main church building had been marked by the agency, said it had requested that

Synagogue Building Collapse Death Toll Rises to 80

Six days after a five-storey building used as guest house by the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN collapsed, killing scores of persons and injuring several others, the church was yet to produce names of  lodgers in the building.

Although the South African government had Tuesday claimed that 67 of its citizens perished in the collapsed building but rescue operators are faced with the challenge of identifying the nationalities of the dead and survivors, owing to what they alleged as reluctance from SCOAN to produce the names.

Besides, indication emerged that some countries, among which is Australia, have been calling in to ascertain the plight of their citizens feared might be victims.

This Lady Was Shot Dead On Her Way To Work In Lagos (PICTURED)

A lady, Oluwabunmi Adeola Oladokun, and an unidentified man, were shot by gunmen on the morning of Friday, 12 September in Orisumbare area of Idimu, Lagos.
Oladokun was on her way to work in Victoria Island around 5:30 a.m, when she got shot and died on the spot.

The identity of the male victim could not be ascertained, but he reportedly managed to escape with a gunshot injury and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in the area.

The cause of the attack could not be determined as at press time, but eyewitness accounts have it that before Oluwabunmi was shot, people in the neighbourhood heard her shout for help.

Lagos Babe Smashes Bottle On Man’s Head for Hugging Her




Chaii!! See what Ebola has caused o!! Some people are taking this Ebola scare too far. A lady who was afraid of contracting Ebola from hugging on Monday smashed a beer bottle on a man’s head for daring to hug her in the Ajah area of Lagos.

The woman identified as Bunmi was said to have been angry when her friend, Ademola Ojikutu, held her from behind without her consent in this "dreadful season" of Ebola.

    Her elder sister, Yemi, told Leadership that her sister was afraid of contracting Ebola and had since refused to shake anybody including her (Yemi).

    The elder sister said she was discussing with her sister, Bunmi, at Ilaje area when Ojikutu held her from behind...


Yemi said her sister was enraged and, out of anger, picked a bottle from a nearby beer parlour and smashed it on Ademola's head.

Blood gushed out from his head so much that people around had to rush him to a nearby hospital in the area in order to save the guy's life.

Although the elder sister confirmed that she was not happy about what her sister did to Ademola but added that he was also wrong to grab her from behind since he knows that everyone is scared of Ebola.

Ademola is now suffering in pains. Guys, please stay away from ladies who are good with beer bottles.

Most importantly keep your hugs and kisses to yourself for the now!! Ebola is REAL!!! No be funny mata o!

How Lagos Nursing Mother Got Infected With Ebola Virus - Doctor





 A medical doctor has described how a nursing mother who is one of the confirmed cases of the Ebola virus in Lagos contracted the disease while attending her antenatal care at First Consultant Hospital in Obalende, Lagos where the first victim of Ebola virus in Nigeria, Patrick Sawyerr, died.

The lady was confirmed to have the deadly disease after testing positive at the NNPC staff clinic on Muri Okunola street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos.
Speaking anonymously with Punch, the doctor said;

    'The lady attended ante-natal at First Consultant prior to the arrival of the Liberian, Mr. Patrick Sawyer. She was delivered of her baby at the hospital after which she was discharged. A few weeks later, Mr. Sawyer came around and was attended to by health workers.


EBOLA: ECOWAS Official, Who Assisted Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, Dies Of Ebola In Lagos







The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has announced the death of one of its staff, Jatto Abdulqudir, of the dreaded Ebola virus.

The death of the ECOWAS official has now brought to three the number of people who died of Ebola in Nigeria.

The first two were Mr. Sawyer, who brought the Ebola virus into Nigeria, and one of the nurses who treated him at the First Consultant Hospital in Lagos.

Nigerian Nurse Down With Ebola After Treating Patrick Sawyer Speaks Out(PICTURED)








Obi Justina Ejelonu is from Mbaise in Imo State, a graduate of Ebonyi State University Abakaliki and was previously working at Otunba Tunwase National Pediatric Centre Ijebu Ode in Ogun state before relocating to Lagos to work at First Consultant Hospital Obalende.

    “I never contacted his fluids. I checked his vitals, helped him with his food (he was too weak)…..I basically touched where his hands touched and that's the only contact. Not directly with his  fluids.

Lagos Government Warns Churches And Mosques Over Ebola















South-West States Governors, on Wednesday, met in Lagos, in an emergency meeting over concerted efforts to be deployed in containing the Ebola virus disease in the states.This came as the Lagos State government confirmed the death of one of the nurses who had first degree contact with the dead Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who died of Ebola virus disease in Lagos.

 Lagos  State government has advised churches, mosques and other religious organisations to suspend all activities that involve large gatherings of people, until the Ebola outbreak is brought under control.


Speaking to journalists at the daily briefing on the Ebola outbreak at the State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, the state Commissioner for Health, Jide Idris, said the move would help prevent the spread of the disease that had, so far, killed two people in the country.

The government has confirmed two fresh Ebola cases in Lagos. The medical doctor who attend to late Mr Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian man who brought the deadly Ebola virus into the country, has contacted the virus along with the health worker who also took care of the late man.
