Abuja Gets First Solar Powered Filling Station (PHOTO)

Solynta Energy, a UK registered Solar Energy Company, has launched Abuja’s first solar-powered filling station in Nigeria.

The filling station, Bakka Oil, located along the Lokoja Expressway in Gwagwalada, is only the 2nd ever fully solar powered Filling Station in West Africa. The first of which is Total filling station on Mobolaji Bank- Anthony way, Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking about the project, Alh. Abdulrahaman Mohammed, MD of Bakka Oil Nigeria Limited said, “the installation of the Solar Power System has been a great fillip for the Filling Station, as it has lead to a significant reduction in the cost of power, and has made the working environment far better for staff and customers alike.

CAR BUILT BY NIGERIAN STUDENTS PASSES GLOBAL TEST (PICTURED)






A car built by Nigerian students of the university of Benin, Edo State has passed the global test for cars. The car called Tuke-Tuke is evidence of the innovativeness of the youth of Nigeria  in the field of technology if given the chance and recognition.

The car has passed international technical evaluation in Rotterdam, Netherlands:
    “Shell Eco-marathon challenges student teams from around the world to design, build and test ultra-energy efficient vehicles. The winners are the teams that go the furthest using the least amount of energy. The events spark debate about the future of mobility and inspire young engineers to push the boundaries of fuel efficiency.

A Mother's dilemma & reaction after reading 13year old daughter's sexual text messages (MUST READ)



This is long but very interesting.It's a true account of a mother's (SHONA SIBARY )dilemma when she found-out her 13 year old daughter has been flirting with guys after accidentally syncing her phone with her daughter's.She also narrates how she handled it,..I doubt that will happen here though ..lol
Late one night, lying in bed, I was on the verge of dropping off to sleep when my iPhone suddenly vibrated on the bedside table beside me.
It was nearly midnight. Who could possibly be texting at this hour? For a fleeting moment I wondered whether to just leave it. But with a teenage daughter 70 miles away at boarding school, a mother's instinct made me reach for the phone.

The new €˜Pomegranate-inspired€™ design solves a major problem with current Lithium-Ion batteries

An electrode designed like a pomegranate could dramatically boost the battery life of gadgets, researchers have revealed.
Standford researcher developed the new electrode with the Department of Energy’s SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
They say it could soon find its way into gadgets, making them last far longer than current batteries which degrade over time.

14-Year-old Girl Suffers 2nd Degree Burns When Her iPhone Burst Into Flames

 Maine teenager suffered second-degree burns on Friday when her iPhone caught fire in her pocket while she was at school.
The girl, who has not been named, was burned on the thigh and back when her iPhone 5C started smouldering in her back pocket.
Classmates heard a pop and saw smoke billowing around the 14-year-old, who had to remove her pants in class to get away from the fire.
