Boko Haram Frees Wife Of Cameroonian Deputy Prime Minister After Heavy Payment

Boko Haram militants have released the wife of Cameroonian Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali, ten Chinese workers and district heads kidnapped a few months ago.

The kidnap victims were released on Thursday after intense tripartite negotiations involving Cameroon, Chinese interests, and representatives of the Islamist group.

SaharaReporters confirmed that Mrs. Ali, who was abducted by the militants in July, had arrived in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, following her release.

A source in Cameroon disclosed that a hefty ransom was paid to the Boko Haram terrorists.

Cameroon Army Arrest Mayor Of Fotokol And 300 Boko Haram Members

The Cameroon army announced yesterday that they have arrested the Mayor of Fotokol, Ramat Moussa and 300 Boko Haram fighters. The army revealed that huge stocks of Boko Haram weapons were found at the mayor's residence including Chinese made weaponry.

Cameroon Concord understands that there is now a combined Cameroon, Nigeria and Chad force currently involved in the fight to eradicate Boko Haram. Our source in Maroua hinted that some of the heavy weapons found at the residence of Mayor Ramat Moussa included machine guns and rockets.

Cameroon Bombs Boko Haram Camp Killing Many Fighters

Boko Haram has suffered a heavy casualty after coming under attack from Cameroon’s army.
The Cameroonian army shelled one of the Islamist sect’s camps across the border, killing “many” fighters, according to a security official.

The source said the army shelled the camp on Wednesday evening, two days after the jihadist group seized control of Gamboru Ngala on the border with Cameroon.

“It was tanks stationed on the frontier at Fotokol (on Cameroon’s side of the border) that shelled the camp on the other side,” the source said on condition of anonymity.
“Seen from Fotokol this morning, Gamboru looks empty and smells of death,” he added. “Nobody knows how many Boko Haram members were killed, but it is obvious that many were.”

BOKO HARAM: Cameroon Orders Security Agents To Hide Intelligence From Nigeria

Strong indications have emerged that Nigeria’s neighbour, Cameroon, is not cooperating with the country in the efforts to stop the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria and its borders.

Investigations on Friday revealed that the Cameroonian government had issued a directive to all its military commanders in charge of border areas with Nigeria to keep all critical information about Boko Haram away from Nigeria.

In the directive which was obtained by our correspondent, Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, Mr. Rene Emmanuel Sadi, reportedly told the commanders to withhold crucial information about the insurgents from Nigeria.

The Cameroonians World Cup ambition ended on dramatic note as they note only  lost 4-0 to Croatia, they were so frustrated they turned against each other. In the 90th minute of the match, Cameroon defender, Benoit Assou-Ekotto headbutted teammate Benjamin Moukandjo after exchanging a few words with him. Another teammate Pierre Webo had to break the pair up as it seemed they were ready to forget the football they came to Brazil to play and fight each other in front of millions of football fans. Over 3 weeks after the abduction of the Chibok Girls and following a recent video posted online by Boko Haram's leader, Abubakar Shekau, threatening to sell the abducted 276 secondary school girls in Chibok, Borno State, some Muslims in Cameroon and the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakari, are reportedly calling on their fellow believers not to marry any of these girls should they be offered to them.
According to a report on AriseNaija.com, no other topic in recent years has generated a heated debate in Cameroon as much as the activities of the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram.
It was gathered that the debate took on a new dimension when some media reports suggested that the over two hundred school girls kidnapped from a school in northeastern Nigeria on April 14 might had been transferred to Cameroon and Chad.

Cameroon Arrests Three Suspected Boko Haram Weapon Suppliers

Cameroon said on Thursday it had arrested three men suspected of being arms traffickers that supply Boko Haram.
This information has been disclosed to the AFP by a Cameroonian police official on condition of anonymity. The men were caught in the far north of the country on Wednesday, March 26 near the border with Nigeria where the Islamist group has been waging a brutal armed insurgency.

    "Members of the BIR (an elite rapid-response unit of Cameroon's army) and the police found a significant stock of arms including a kalashnikov and rocket launchers near Goulfey," the official said.
