Panel Clears Oritsejafor, Asari Dokubo Over $9.3m Arms Deal....

A secret panel raised by the Federal Government has reportedly cleared the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor, and Alhaji Mujahideen Asari-Dokubo of involvement in the $9.3 million arms’ deal.
According to a statement by PRNigeria a media outfit close to security agencies,

“A special team, comprising security agents, intelligence experts and officials of the ministry of foreign affairs has investigated the $9.3 million cash-for-arms deal and submitted its report to the presidency.(continue)....

“The committee confirmed that the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, had no connection with the transaction.
“It was true that the CAN president’s jet was used but we found out that it was without his knowledge. As at the time in question, the aircraft was on lease. And you may be aware that the lease trend is peculiar to private jet owners in the country.
“It is the view of the committee that Oritsejafor cannot be held liable for any shuttle made by a lease firm.
“As for the manifest of the plane, the committee also discovered that the Niger Delta activist, Mujaheedin Asari-Dokubo, was not among those on board the transaction aircraft. There was no mention of Dokubo in the manifest presented during the investigation.”

When I Met Asari And Agreed A Peace Deal— Stephen Davis

Australian hostage negotiator Stephen  Davis has reacted to Asari Dokubo's comments  on the Abducted Chibok girls. In his comments, published on September 14, the  ex- militant alleged that the Mr. Davis was brought in by former President Obasanjo to negotiate the release of the Chibok girls who, he, Asari, did not believe were kidnapped. Read his reaction below as published by Vanguard

I read with interest Asari Dokubo’s comments published on September 14 in the Daily Post.

Asari is quite correct in saying that he knows me well and has met members of my family. In 2004, the Niger Delta was aflame with conflict. Asari, Ateke Tom and Tompolo were waging a fierce war against the Nigerian federal and state governments. Many people had been killed.

Nigerian military were having trouble contending with Asari’s guerrilla warfare. Small, highly mobile and heavily armed militant forces in fast boats struck across the Niger Delta targeting oil installations and military posts. Nigeria’s oil output at one point dropped to  as low as 600,000 barrels per day and on average was halved to one million barrels per day.

Asari Dokubo Under Fire Over Comment On The Attack On Buhari

Niger Delta ex-militant, Alhaji Mujarhedeen Asari Dokubo, has come under fire over his comment on the terrorist attack that almost claimed the life of former head of state, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

“In as much as I do not hold brief for Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, I submit that remarks such as the one made by Alhaji Dokubo-Asari are capable of further polarising our polity to the detriment of the vulnerable and underprivileged Nigerians and I call on all well-informed Nigerians to condemn same, and in particular for the Presidency to dissociate itself from the above vexatious and inflammatory statement owing to the closeness of its author to President Goodluck Jonathan.

WIKE CAN'T BE RIVERS STATE GOVERNOR, ASARI DOKUBO TELLS PRESIDENT JONATHAN

Leadership reports :
The next governor of Rivers State will not be determined by First Lady Patience Jonathan, according to leader of outlawed Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force Alhaji Mujahedeen Asari Dokubo.
An attempt to make supervising minister of education Mr Nyesom Wike the next governor of the state, Dokubo warned, would not only affect the political fortune of President Goodluck Jonathan but also the chances of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
He said the plan by the first lady to impose Wike on the people was morally wrong in the light of the dominance of the political landscape of the state by the Ikwerre group, to which Wike belongs, in the past 16 years.

Asasri Dokubo Writes OBJ, Calls hin 'Chief Assassin'

The leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Mujahid Dokubo Asari, on Thursday called former President Olusegun Obasanjo the “Chief Assassin of all times” in response to the former leader’s recent letter to President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a letter to Obasanjo, Dokubo, who has previously sworn that there will be hell on earth if Jonathan is not re-elected in 2015, rebutted Obasanjo’s claim that Jonathan is training a special killer squad to hit 1000 supposed opponents of his government.
Asari also claimed that Obasanjo was responsible for his recent arrest in Benin Republic, and that he had wanted him dead when he was President, but failed after several unsuccessful plots.
“I want to remind you of the startling move you made on my life during the momentous days, leading to the historic Isaac Boro celebration on the 16th of May 2005,” he recounted.  “At that time the Bayelsa state Government was under Chief D.S.P. Alamieseigha. Chief DSP Alamieseigha had warned that the 1million man march the NDPVF was organizing to protest the injustice of the Nigerian state against the Ijaws and other oil bearing nation should not hold and would not be allow into Bayelsa state because of a security report that emanated from you that I didn’t know at the time. The report or plot to truncate the march was grave and dangerous, as the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State Chief D.S.P. Alamieseigha, told me the Bayelsa State Government couldn’t guarantee our security – my security.
