Supatra Sasuphan holds the Guinness World Record for the hairiest girl in the world. Only 11 years of age, this girl is called Wolf Girl or Monkey Face due to her appearance. Although most of her classmates tease her for her appearance, they did not know that this is caused by a medical condition called Ambras Syndrome. Only 50 individuals are recorded to suffer this extremely rare condition. The cause of the syndrome is faulty chromosomes. Supatra has thick growing hair over her face, ears, arms, legs and back. She ended up looking werewolf like because of Ambras.
Supatra has experienced teasing and bullying by her classmates because they are not well informed by the condition. After Guinness awarded her a world record, more and more of her classmates became comfortable with her.
Despite the condition, she lives a normal life. This includes participating in school, doing outdoor activities and many more. Supatra is a living proof that people should not be judged based on their appearance and that there’s more than what meets the eye. Someday, people like Supatra can be accepted by the community.
