Facebook Approves Posting Of Breastfeeding Photos
Mothers can officially post their breastfeeding photos on Facebook without it being taken down.
The conversation about sharing breastfeeding photos has been making headlines recently.
The social networking site never banned breastfeeding photos of new moms, but images were removed after being reported for “nudity or pornography”.
Recently, Facebook quietly changed its policy allowing new moms to share their special moment.
The policy reads;
Does Facebook allow photos of mothers breastfeeding?
Yes. We agree that breastfeeding is natural and beautiful and we’re glad to know that it’s important for mothers to share their experiences with others on Facebook. The vast majority of these photos are compliant with our policies.
The site also pointed out that “Please note that the photos we review are almost exclusively brought to our
attention by other Facebook members who complain about them being shared on Facebook.”
A group #FreeTheNipple has been campaigning the censoring of female nipples on social media including Facebook and Instagram, while allowing men to post similar images.
