Those Who Asked For My Redeployment Will Soon Beg Me To Come Back --Joseph Mbu
Former Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mbu Joseph, has said that the people who advocated for his redeployment from Rivers State Police Command would soon beg for his return, as according to him, the new CP Tunde Ogunsakin, his replacement was tougher and a "no-nonsense" officer who did not tolerate excesses from anyone.
Mbu said this during a courtesy call on Nyesom Wike at his Port Harcourt home yesterday. He was accompanied on his visit by Ogunsakin.
Mbu also said he was leaving the state with his head held high because there was no political killings in the state during his watch. He advised the new CP to be vigilant and to have a Zero policy on tinted vehicles as assassins could be hidden behind the veil.
He added that " I did not come here with a script as alleged by few propagandists."
'I have discharged my duties with diligence, and for the pas one year there has never been any political assassination in Rivers State. Our sworn allegiance to the Nigerian Police Force must be upheld at all times." Mbu continued.
On his part, Ogunsakin said the ban on political rallies remained in place and that anyone seeking to organize any rally must obtain clearance from the police at least 5 days before the event.
In his remarks Wike promised the police commissioner his support and the corporation of the PDP.
'We will give you all the support you will require to make ypur job successful'
Wike added that "there was a time when police was used to intimidate people in this state, until we had to go to court to seek redress before we could hold political meetings."
He added that Mbu had also refused to grant them, GDI and PDP permits to hold their rallies, but the public was not aware of this because according to him they did not have money to go to press.
He continued that he had never met Mbu before in his life, ha deed that the claim the Mbu was acting out a script written by him was unfortunate as " you can not influence Mbu in any way"
He appeal to the new CP to ensue that the lives and property of the Rivers State people was well protected.
"Those of us in Abuja will not want to be afraid to come home because of one crisis or the other, That is why we promise to give you maximum support"
