A notorious gang leader,Joland Giwa, an orphan believed to be either from Nigeria or Sierra Leone is giving UK authorities a though time.
Giwa who was once the leader of the 80-strong DSN gang that terrorized South London, with stabbings, shootings and murder has been in the UK since 1999.
Giwa, who is 24-year old, also known as Dexter is back on the streets after deportation attempts failed.
Efforts to deport him after a 27- month sentence for two robberies failed because neither country wants him.
A high court judge said in October that Giwa should be freed if he was not deported in three months. Giwa also known as Dexter lived in Croydon in South London and led a campaign of terror for several years in Croydon, South London.
In 2007 the gang DSN was behind a surge in violence on the streets of Croydon, South London, which saw stabbings, shootings and murders police say. Officers linked Giwa to atleast 99 incidents of criminal or anti social behavior.
He is believed to be in a bail hostel in Wales,
He bragged about his crimes on facebook during his jail term, and in a Youtube video, boasted about shooting a man in the head.
Home office however said efforts to have Giwa removed will continue and he will be tagged and closely monitored, a spokeswoman of the Home office said Giwa's application for bail was vigorously opposed and that they were disappointed by the court's decision.
He will be subjected to rigorous monitoring and we will continue to fight for his removal from the UK.
